How they are not ranked is kind of mind boggling

they've lost a bunch of games, several to bad teams. They have had a season much like we have.

They lost 2/3 to open the season in Houston. Then they lost 4 straight a couple weeks later, 3 in Vegas and another midweek loss to Central Arkansas. Then they dropped a game to North Dakota St.

They were barely ranked to start the season, so it didn't take much for them to drop out

They are a really good hitting team, but their pitching injuries and losing their starting catcher has definitely hurt them. I know their catcher should be back soon. Not sure about the pitchers.

They hit a lot of homers but don’t do much else well. Saturday’s game was pretty much the first game all year where they were able to string hits together and sustain offense. The rest of their games this year had been live and die by the long ball.

The coping mechanism of thinking that an opponent who just beat our arse is really good is as old as time. I have seen it here a million times.

I go back to that time Rice shut us out twice in the super-regional in 2002. Everyone was like "aw yeah, they are going to make noise in Omaha!"

They went two and out.

Vandy will do well to finish around .500 in SEC play. Better teams will handle them.

They are built for that park, that is for sure

The SEC is going to be a jumbled mess with a lot of parity. People keep saying they aren’t good but they will hold their own

I think they are a really really good hitting team, and their two starting arms are good. We were one pitch away from winning this series on the road, never easy. None of our starting arms got through 5 innings. I feel a lot better today than I did yesterday.

No, Vandy can hit. their top two starters, and a few other very key pieces are injured. Can't say the same for other teams

What was it that made you think that? It looked like two mediocre teams playing who wants to lose.

I think we saw 2 middling teams in their first conference series. One was at home and one was on the road. I think we are going to lose several more and so will vandy. I don’t think either team will look like this by the end of conference play.
