Didn’t get to watch the last 2 games. Does he look more comfortable at the plate?

idk, i'm pretty sure people very much appreciate him, especially after what's been trotted out there this season.

Never never NEVER take him out of the 9 hole. The 9 hole is a very valuable spot in the lineup. It used to be a staple for your automatic outs like Hal Hughes and Milazzo for years but now it’s viewed as your second lead off hitter. We need him to continue to get on base to give Milam, Brown, Curiel someone to drive in when we flip it over to the top of the lineup

Milam
Brown

Stanfield, Milam, Brown, and Curiel is the murders row of our lineup. Having him in that 9th spot gives incredible value to our lineup. We really just need Yorke and Dardar to start hitting or getting on base.

He hit 0.400 with a 0.538 OBP. 4 for 10 with 3 walks, 1 RBI, and 4 runs scored. He did K 4 times, though.

Get on base and the top should score him. Same as last year. That's all we need from him.

This will undoubtedly rub half this board the wrong way, but yorke has gotten on base at a better rate than curiel or milam so far this year…the perceived murderers row.

Yup. If the team is hitting, him in the 9 hole does not hurt us. If they are not, his getting on base for the top of the lineup is a boost that could hopefully kick the team into gear. I like it, I know it seems counter to conventional wisdom, but I like it.

But he's not driving in runs; Brown, Curiel, Dardar. Carraway, Arrambide, Milam, and Serna have more RBIs than he does. Brown, Curiel, Milam, and Arrambide all have more hits than he does. Yorke walks more than anyone else and has been plunked more than anyone else.

I'm not being dismissive of him; I think his getting on base is very valuable in the lineup. I just wonder if maybe he should be in a run-scoring spot in the lineup, though I am not sure where that would be, TBH. Drop him to 8th so you get him, then Stanny, maybe both getting on base for the top of the lineup?

It’s working, so I’m not suggesting changing it. He’s one of 4 guys that I feel good when he steps in the box, I wouldn’t hate moving him to leadoff to get him an extra AB.

At the same time, there’s a good chance you’d replace an AB from Curiel with Stanny through 27 outs. So yeah, leave him at 9. I don’t want to touch Milam, when Milam hits LSU scores.

It's great that he is back in the lineup. It should pay dividends.
