To make the tournament, sure.

To grab a national seed, naw fam.

The general rule is average 2 wins a series, meaning if we drop 2/3 in one series, we need to sweep another.

We have opportunities to sweep in conference still, especially since we play S Carolina

Predictable melts everywhere.

2025 was an awful team, too. I read it on the Rant.

20-10 gets a national seed

Not really. 19 wins in 2023 & 2025 got national seeds. 13 wins in 2024 got a 2 seed.

The number for SEC teams, particularly the blue bloods, is 18-12 now.

Which is a tick below averaging 2 wins a series.

Correct. So 20 isn’t really the rule anymore. More like 18.

Not quite

Averaging 2 wins per series would give us 20 wins in conference. We've only done that 5 times since 1999 (when the Super Regionals started, and you started having national seeds). Last time was 2017.

However, we've been a national seed 12 times in that stretch. So that's 7 times we've been a national seed without 20 wins, including both of Jay's national titles.

That’s kind of outdated. Don’t need to have 20 wins to host.

LSU pitching just gave 33 runs in 3 games, and bro says they're on pace

Well, we did score 31 in those same 3 games, and was an out away from taking the series. So let's not act like we weren't competitive, despite how sloppy we played.

Clean up the fielding, get Evans and Guidry settled down, find another pitcher or so, and get 1-2 more bats going, and we're in good shape.

Hell, we slump every year. In 2023 with Skenes, we lost 2 of the last 3 conference series, and went 1-2 in the SEC tourney. Everyone figured that team was done, couldn't win without Skenes on the mound.
Last year we got swept at Auburn, then lost the series at A&M, and then was down in the regional to UALR in an elimination game. People swore we were done then; we didn't lose another game.

Good lord another one of these threads?

Losing the series on the road has never in the history of LSU baseball been the goal. What exactly are we on pace for?

20-10 has always been the goal

Auburn went 17-13 in the SEC last year and was a top 8 seed and acutually ranked one spot above LSU. Vandy went 19-11 like LSU did and won the SEC tourney and was the number 1 overall seed
