1) Milam is a natural as a lead-off hitter.

2) Jake Brown is sandwiched in between Milam and Curiel. Brown forces pitchers to give Milam some decent pitches, and Curiel forces pitchers to deal with Jake Brown as much as anybody on this team can.

3) Putting Stanfield in the #9 spot is ingenious. It's like having 2 leadoff hitters (Stanfield and Milam) back -to-back.

Now, hopefully we can get 2-3 guys in the rest of the lineup to step up. I like John Pearson getting some reps. Just a matter of where they would play him.

I think Pearson needs to play more. His error was bad but he was disciplined at the plate. Something we haven’t seen from Caraway.

The pitching is abysmal. This team is a sub. 500 team. Vandy is not good.

I think we go 16-14 in conference, get to 38- wins in SEC tourney, and do enough to squeak in as one of the last regional hosts.

Yeah I don’t think this is a national seed team but if we get the offense consistent, keep the defense from being a liability (1-2 errors per weekend) and get more than 4 pitchers who can find the zone, we can be a 12-16 seeded host.

I said earlier in the week I would bat my highest OBP guy(s) in front of Brown and Curiel either leadoff or last in the line up.

I do like the lineup, but with the way Brown is hitting right now, shouldn't he be hitting cleanup?

York and stanfield at 8-9 would be good on base guys.

If york ever gets going lookout.

You want your best hitter hitting 2nd. It only matters in the first inning, bc he’ll be in position to get more RBIs especially if you have an 8 and 9 with decent to good OBP. Also better chance you’ll get your 2 hole up in crunch time in the 8th and 9th than your 4 hole.

That’s why Tommy White hit 2nd pretty much his entire career at LSU.

Don’t you know that posters TigerMac81 & JTA1985 know more about coaching LSU baseball than Jay Johnson?
