Think LotR wasn’t made for her? Guess again.

Black woman waited 20+ years to watch the trilogy, can’t get over how good it is.
Tolkien was, is, and always will be for everyone. As he wrote it.

This vocal minority of idiots that think every single piece of media they consume must be built around and celebrate their own personal identity is exhausting and destructive.
Not every form of media on the planet can affirm your own personal identity and it will be garbage if it does. Checkbox ticking is so painfully obvious in media these days and everyone laughs at it but it still continues.
When I first watched Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon I wasn't all "OMG there are no Southern white dudes in this movie at all!"
The same people who talk the most about "diversity" are actually the most zealous about destroying other cultures. Their idea of "diversity" is simple copy and pasting people who match their own identity into every single piece of media. The exact opposite of diversity actually.
If you actually cared about "diversity" you would be able to watch American films, British films, French films, Japanese films, Korean films, etc. and appreciate them all.

It’s a morality tale so of course hollyweird wants to first pervert, then destroy it. Actual humans see it for what it really is.

First few seconds of the vid with her crying, I'm certain the WOKE folk were thinking " Yeah, girl, that racism is to the HILT bad, right ? Ain't NO black folk up in the Shire! "
This is why Rings of Power is such a colossal pile of trash, and everyone involved with it who tries to guilt fans into loving it or else, just needs to STFU and admit defeat.

But there has to be gay black female trans dwarves or people won't feel represented. Damn racists and phobists.

She should read the books

Don’t want to get into politics but it’s good to see the effect this great story still has on a genuine person.

Cool. Maybe the next Wakanda will be made for Chinamen.

She's all of us. That's the point. For all stories. The well written ones, at least.

I like to think that it’s real, and I hope it is. But these days my go-to assumption is that it’s a fake clip for likes and clicks. Just like most of the “black people watching or hearing _______ for the FIRST time!!!” videos are.

The idea that black people want watch a movie unless there are black characters is ridiculous. Black men used to love westerns who were almost completely devoid of black characters. Cliff Huxtables favorite thing to do on a Friday night was to get a hoagie and watch some old westerns.
. I just went and watched Scream 7 and half the audience was black. There were some black characters, but they were pretty far down the list of importance.

You can't fake that. I dont get the crying, but its not for me to get. That something personal & deeply rooted & I'm not knocking it. Good for her.

True, definitely nobody can fake cry.

I was going to say tl;dr but that's a pretty amazing post

I didn't say you couldn't fake crying. Discerning between the two isn't that difficult.

LotR was an incredible tale, and then when you learn about all the stuff he never polished to be in published form that he had created, you realize just how profoundly deep this story actually was.
