I really want to know what number would make him feel valued? Didn’t think it’d get to this point

Age is a number too, Cam. Age is a number too.

Hopefully this gets worked out and Cam can be reasonable. It’s likely his last contract, so I understand trying to get as much as he can. But he’s gotta be reasonable.

That being said, Granderson should probably restructure. He did squat last year.

We don’t need to blow cap space on a 3rd aging vet when we may be trying to add to position in draft. Cam pissy over Carl and Chase numbers

If somehow Bailey, Reese, Styles, or even Bain are there at 8th the Cam/Granderson combo will be phased out.

Probably so on the restructure.

but he was 3rd on the team in sacks (6)

57 combined tackles, better than any other down lineman

11 Tackles for loss tied for 2nd

9 QB hits 4th

1 interception

I would say that isn't sqaut

Granderson only played 338 pass rush snaps last year after averaging 520 over the previous two seasons

Sack rate was actually up over the previous two. He was also 4th in the entire NFL in solo tackles for edge defenders. Very underrated vs the run

That's not really messy. Not really different than what he's said the whole time. Messy is how he talks about Todd Grantham

better to get out of a deal a year too early than a year too late.

Cam is approaching the cliff anyday now. just let him go

This is pretty mild and yall are melting for nothing. Cam is being honest and not attacking the org nearly as bad as other players on other teams have in the past.

I think he wants to stay here and already has a better offer, hes just weighing his options while giving the team that has done right by him his entire career an opportunity to let fa play out before signing.

He still played like a top 25 DE last year.

While his pass rushing has dipped, he's still stout vs the run. He played on a 1/6mil deal while he was the most productive edge we had (the best was young).

I think he feels he has 2 years left in the tank, which the way he played last year I think that's true.

I don't think it's unreasonable to offer him a 2/24mil deal. You pay him a 10mil signing bonus, 2mil base and spread the hit over 5 years. Next year's 12mil being nonguaranteed and you give him essentially a year deal that compensates him like a solid starter

If it were me, I'd let him walk.

I appreciate everything he's done. I respect that he wants to get paid as much as he can.

Give him a hug, thank him for what he's done, and let him go.
