Fetterman says he won’t vote for SAVE Act ‘in its current state’

Fetterman also said last month that the changes under the SAVE Act to restrict mail-in voting, which Trump has railed against even as Republicans implore their voters to use it, was a “nonstarter” for him. On Wednesday, Fetterman reiterated that view with CBS News, insisting that Trump’s calls to ban mail-in voting made no sense.

Well Jon, can you explain to me why’s it better for our country to have two parties cheating with mail ballets instead of neither using them?
I wish someone in the press would put that some form of that question to him. They won’t though obviously.

I have been telling you idiots that for weeks.

Fetterman is a Democrat after all. What did anyone expect?

Who was the guy who said he would vote for Fetterman over Massie?

I don’t have a problem with mail-in ballots. I have a problem with the lack of verification on mail-in ballots.

Posted by RollingwiththeTide on 3/11/26 at 5:06 pm to KCT In a hypothetical Presidential matchup between Massie vs Fetterman I wonder who would win? It’s no contest for me I would vote for Fetterman all day every day and twice on Sunday. This question probably deserves its on thread. I would be curious which guy would win the hypothetical election on this board anyway.

Even the "best" Democrat is still crap. About on par with Thune, Cronyn, or Cassidy.

The Save Act is dead - it does not and will not have the votes.
Time to move on.
BTW, I don't have an issue with mail-ins as well, as long as verification is subjected to scrutiny and audit before counting. Sounds like a simple fix.

In a system of secret ballots, can there even BE "verification" of mail in?
For example... I'm reasonably certain I could forge all my family's signatures as well as "witness" signatures. Who's gonna know?

This is stupid. Of course they implore their voters to use it; it is allowed, and it is a major reason Dems win elections. This does not mean they support mail in voting; they want it gone so that neither side can use it, because it is a major avenue for voter fraud.
This is like saying someone doesn't want to change tax laws, because they utilize the laws in their current state to their advantage. This is stupid thinking.

Never. The fight is not over. Now is the time to pressure the Senate republicans. If that doesn’t work then make it a midterm campaign issue. 80+% of Americans support voter ID so hammer the fudge out of democrats on the issue. Run adds saying that the only reason they oppose it is so they can cheat. Call them out. Only a pussy or a cuck would give up now.

There are not very many absolute truths but one of the few is:
Trust a democrat. Get stabbed in the back

Trump said he will not sign any legislation unless it is passed.

Unless he vetoes a bill, it becomes law in 10 days even without his signature.
