NY Post

Something is going on. Help from an unlikely source?

quote:

For many years, I believed that if the US Senate scrapped the filibuster, Texas and our nation would stand to lose more than we would gain,” wrote Cornyn (R-Texas), who is set to face Lone Star State Attorney General Ken Paxton in a hotly contested May 26 primary runoff, in an op-ed published by The Post. “But when the reality on the ground changes, leaders must take stock and adapt.”

quote:

Cornyn called for his colleagues to adopt “whatever changes … may prove necessary” to pass legislation meant to secure America’s elections, as well as a separate bill to reopen the Department of Homeland Security.

They don't need to change a single rule to require a standing filibuster.

Which is what they should do. But Cornyn is basically mini Thune. Why would he write an Op Ed like this?

Because Paxton said he'd drop out if the SAVE America Act is passed.

They only need 51 votes to pass the version that has already passed in the lower chamber.

Cornyn is feeling election heat, but it's still just a game.

He's seen his internal polling.

This is Cornyn's equivalent of McCain's "Build the damn wall" campaign stunt.

F*ck these 1 in every 6th rear conservatives.

shite like that sounds like a good idea today but as soon as the democrats take back power, they will ram everything down our throats and we will be forced to like it. frick that! Play by the rules, get shite done by the rules.

Democrats get everything they want passed when they're in power, why can't republicans?

You damned right Cornyn's reality has changed. Why elect a fella who will push policies for the NWO against the wants and needs of the citizenry served?

He will not ever be the same after waking up from the NWO dream.

I am willing to have Tejas reelect Cornyn if the Senate passes the SAVE America Act.

I don’t either. I’m not sure I trust most anyone in the senate. Definitely an interesting twist though. Maybe the internal polling is showing the war is more popular than they hedged? I came across a YouGov/Econ poll at work (something I typically wouldn’t use because of how yougov self selects so take it for what’s it worth) that people who self described as maga had it as 94% approval. 50-50 overall. +20 for people saying they had or are serving in the military.

You really have to ask?

Paxton has suddenly turned Cornyn into the most Conservative Pro-Trump senator in DC .... and it's all for show, and the dough.
