Name the elite RBs in the league right now that were drafted after the 2nd round. Gets real thin.

And with defenses figuring out WBs, RB is becoming more important.

And yes I know where Kamara was drafted, Tom Brady went in the 7th round, Jacob Hester was a 2 star, etc..:

Sure, but look at the elite teams. It’s all teams who did not waste a first pick on a rb. A lot of the elite backs who were drafted high are either on their second team or on bad teams.

This draft is light on the type of back Moore likes. Well, maybe not light on actual guys, but guys that would have an impact for what Moore likes to do, imo. There are 2 RBs that would be perfect for this team:

Washington can be had in the 2nd.
Kaytron Allen can be had in the 4th.

Who says they cannot still do either of these?

Seems to me, this fits the description of the Saints and Etiene. Not using a 1st round pick to draft a rb and signed a proven rb, who was drafted high, to his second contract

Name the super bowl teams that had a first round rb as their stud. Outside the eagles, not many in the last 20 years.

Alvin Kamara, Bucky Irving, Kyren Williams, Devon Achane, Tony Pollard, Chase Brown, Aaron Jones, Cam Skattebo, Kyle Monongai, David Montgomery, Rhamondre Stevenson, RJ Harvey, Woody Marks, Chubba Hubbard.

Obviously not many of these guys are currently elite, but you can definitely find a borderline elite or at least effective RB in the mid rounds. You aren't aiming for elite in the middle rounds. You aim to build an elite running game through the o line and having a strong but perhaps not elite rb

Paying Etienne elite money for him to split time like that would be quite insane

You are assuming that the 2nd or 4th round picks would be taking time away from Etienne. I don't think that is a given.

You think he goes before that? It’s possible, but I wouldn’t burn more than a 2 on him.

Not saying you’re wrong, but they are completely different players. To me Etienne is a luxury piece and I wouldn’t have burned that much cash on a piece like that just yet.

Who the frick am I though, but a fan. I hope Etienne leads the league in rushing.

No I just don’t like him because of his outlier number of fumbles and refusing to do the agility drills at the combine

He just ran fast and shut it down because he thought that’s all teams wanted to see to solidify his draft position

I know a few years ago I was pretty adamant about drafting Achane instead of Miller. It’s worked out well for the dolphins.

Lots of people wanted Skattebo last year, went in the 4th, think he was leading all rookies in yardage when he got hurt.

Bucky Irving, 4th round, 1k rusher as a rookie.

its less than the price of the RB franchise tag. Is it really "elite" money?

This isn’t the year for a mid round running back

I just dont see the point in grabbing another average RB when we have 2 others in Miller and Neal.

the only type of RB you want to grab right now is a true scatback. someone who can catch in space and open the field vertically.

those guys can pair well with an etienne type of RB because it gives you flexible pre-snap looks

If you draft a guy in the 2nd he damn well better be taking a big chunk of the load.

I’m hoping they get a pure speed back and figure the rest as we go.
Almost positive than among several WRs grabbed will be one or two speed merchants.
