How unlucky do you have to be to catch a fish that happened to swallow a lot of metal weights?
Poor guy.
Poor guy.

Bet this guy never thought he’d catch a felony charge over cheating in a bass tournament.

Cheating in a bass tournament?
Is nothing sacred anymore?

Those guys also caught charges
quote:
In May 2023, Runyan and Cominsky were sentenced to jail after pleading guilty to felony charges, including cheating, attempted grand theft, and possessing criminal tools.
Authorities seized Cominsky’s boat and trailer, labeling them as tools of the crime.

Isn't that technically like 4 separate felonies? Fraud, illegal tampering, illegal possession, and at least Louisiana has a law for cheating in a fishing tournament with prizes.

shite like this is exactly why I got out of tournament fishing.
Glad he got caught and arrested.

Seems like a better way to cheat would be bringing some big fish beforehand and have them in a cage or stringer somewhere on the lake and then just go haul them in during the tourney. Do people ever try that?

he wanted to tip the scales in his favor

You show me any bass tournament or golf scramble and I’ll show you some cheating POS. It’s sad, but very true.
