Great news.
Let’s keep it flowing.

I've asked this question here at least twice:
The only real threat to tankers from Iran is drones. However, the drones can already reach the tankers sitting in port. So what's the risk difference in transiting the strait? You can park an Apache and a DDG out there and problem solved.

Yet it will take 2-3 weeks for pump prices to go down to where they were when they jumped 60 cents overnight.

We’ll may need to take that island in the strait and set up some missile defenses on it.

I think the bigger threat is the drone boats, like what Ukraine uses against Russia in the Black Sea. Also the Strait is so narrow that Iran could hit ships with normal artillery.

If we are underwriting the insurance for these vessels I highly doubt we left any Iranian artillery within range. We will be monitoring the shoreline closely

The drones and anti-ship missiles are the problem. I assume our guys have been bombing the shite out of the every ant-ship missile they can find. It may require ground troops on the Iranian side of the strait to deny them that area to launch attacks at shipping from.

As mentioned, there is nothing that moves, sends off a heat signature, or an electronic pulse that will not be destroyed.
Remember the houthis and their threat to shipping til the US got involved on a limited scale and they suddenly screamed uncle? I can imagine its magnified 20 fold, begging something, or someone to stick their head out of a hole

Blast a canal shortcut through the desert.
only halfway serious pending feasibility studies, I assume it would have already been done if feasible

It's mostly mountains where you would need the short cut not desert
