people act like every representative has to have a JD as if years of grad school or law school helps them represent normal people, which is ridiculous. Id honestly rather have more working class people in office.

Besides, AIPAC checks cash just the same regardless of education level.

Harold Hamm is a smart dude, but he's 80 freaking years old. Can we please stop putting 80 year olds in the Executive, Legislative and Judicial branches of our Federal Government?

Not sure Nathan Dahm has ever held a real job.
David Ostrowe appears to have had some real non-political professional career experience, and is an LSU grad.
John O'Connor practiced law before being appointed to some positions prior to his AG days.
Dustin Hilliary worked in his family's telecommunications business and helped it grow, prior to politics.

I guess they don't have AOC's years of experience as a waitress. Or Illian Omar's experience of being a community organizer.

In Oklahoma the person he appoints is a lame duck. They cannot rerun for that same seat once the term is up. So they will not appoint any of the frontrunners who will run for the seat.

Stitt is a part time RINO. He’s done some good things but calling out Trump recently was not a good look. He is also termed out.

Some think he might run for the seat once he’s done being gov. In that regard appointing a staffer might make sense.

Just do everything Trump tells you to do and you will be fine. Not rocket science

This is actually the sort of situation where the 80 year old guy who has done nothing but be successful in the private sector his whole life kinda makes sense.

it doesn't really matter who he appoints as it will be temporary. OK law states the person who is appointed can not run in the special election (if there is time for one) or the next general election. They are a temporary seat holder. You dont want to put someone in the spot that could be a long term senator.

Why he cant run for reelection in the seat. OK law prevents whoever is appointed from running for the seat full time. This is just a seat filler until 2028

Understand, but at some point, we just have to stop putting 80 year olds in federal office.

It’s the senate not the house.
