4 losses to mid-majors in a week's span may be a program first

Don’t worry, yall will get punished by them.
I know them because I actually follow all teams and have seen them play Mississippi St and several other games. Oz is a great pitching cans defense coach. They are a top 8 program.

Apparently you weren’t around prior to 1984

Curious how much of this is bc of getting paid.
If you’re 19/20 years old getting paid to play, already won a natty, treated like a god everywhere on campus. I don’t really see what else would motivate you to keep working hard.
People will say “oh but they wanna make it to the big leagues”. Kids today have such a short attention span that they have a hard time seeing past tomorrow

Definitely, not a first and a little bit of research would have given you the answer you're looking for...

The Tigers haven’t dropped five or more games before SEC play since 2020, and haven’t lost four or more games against mid-major opponents before their conference slate began since 2007.

Many need to go check out the losses the '91 team had. Not comparing the two teams but they lost to almost every in state school that year.

These weren't just losses.
Trailed 10-0 to Northeastern.
Lost 7-2 to ULL.
Trailed 5-0 to Sacramento state.
Trailed 5-0 to Sacramento State again.
These are decisive wins. Sure, LSU fought back against Northeastern and Sacramento State (once) to make it close.
But, these are decisive wins.
The team is Jeckyl and Hyde at the plate. It's quite amazing.
And, it seems to have a pretty strong tendency to fold when things are tough.

The saturday and sunday guys from Sac St we similar in that they threw 88-91 and had riding fastballs that stayed up. So they look like beach balls, and then fly like beach balls when hit. That's where a lot of the pop ups came from.
Brown and Curiel still hit them, they had some loud outs, but for the most part guys couldn't adjust.

It's March. They'll probably still end up a national seed. Baseball...

If you’re a baseball player…. Getting to the show!

And why would they want to get to the show? Money.
Getting paid is all these kids care about. Nothing else. And they’re getting paid handsomely now. Now the motivation to get to the next level is no longer there.
Sure you’ll have a few who actually care about getting to the pros and making a name for themselves. But the majority just want that $
