If It Were Say '80 to '95, How Much Busier Would This Board Be?

IDK the answer since I don't have my finger on the today's music scene's pulse. It seems like interest in things music then, was much more rocking (pun intended) than they are now.

No busier. People would be whining about how bad the Spin Doctors and Goo Goo Dolls sucked as opposed to Nickelback and the Foo Fighters sucking.

Btw, the Foo Fighters really, REALLY suck. They could legitimately be worse than Nickelback.

This board is full of people in their 50's and up. It's not that there's nothing happening in modern music, it's more that old people aren't interested in it.

I think it's partially we don't know how to easily access new music. In the old days you just turned on the radio. Plus new trends in music that's different than you're used to always hits the ears as a little uncomfortable. A lot of groups and styles I didn't care for in my 20's and 30's sound great to me today.

Here's one... An 18 year old friend laid this one on me the other night while we were talking on phone. I had heard of The Flaming Lips but had no clue about any of their songs. He made me play it between trading guitar songs and I loved it. 30 year old me probably wouldn't have, although it does (now and likely then) remind me of Ray Davies and The Kinks vocally.

How he accessed a 30+ year old song I don't know, but it's a great song!

Never understood the Nickelback hate. Literally, the last rock band to have a number one hit. That was twenty-five years ago. But it's still fashionable to dislike them for whatever reason.

It's so much easier to find new music now than it ever has been.

Thus, the very narrow range of options you consumed...leading to:

Usually it's easy to explain why I hate people but I can't easily explain why I hate Dave Grohl so much. But I do

A fuk ton. The industry has changed so much for the worse. Compiling music and seeing live performances was pure joy.

I'm kind of surprised by that statement because the song you posted was pretty popular in the college scene 94-ish. Along with this one:

Yoshimi Battles the Pink Robots is a great album. If you like the Flaming Lips.
