I can’t wrap my head around running 13 miles in less than an hour. Seems physically impossible

Insanity. That’s so damn fast. Most treadmills won’t even go to over 13 mph.

I get the whole runner athlete dichotomy but what these guys are able to train their bodies to do is unbelievable and prob the most impressive thing in the sphere of athletics

As someone that’s run at a high (relatively speaking) level I can’t even fathom that. Absolute insanity. I want someone to get a legit sub 2 marathon so bad

99% of the population could not beat these guys if they were riding a bike. Even moreso for the marathon, very few people could ride a bike for 26 miles. When you think about them running 105 consecutive quarters at a 1:10 pace it really blows your mind, absolutely insane !

Yea this is pacing 5 minutes faster than my 10k pr (per 10k not total time) and I was not far off of being all conference at a D1 with that time. running has gotten so insane.

American distance running as a whole seems to have really accelerated in the past 20 years.

My 10,000m time that had me scoring at SBC Championships would have me getting embarrassed these days in the same conference.
