I missed this when it originally aired. Period piece about the building of the transcontinental railroad. I really enjoyed it… The Swede may be one of my most hated characters ever. Paramount+ if anyone is interested.

It drags in the last few seasons, but the highs are still better than the lows.

Excellent series for someone who's never seen it.

As a cpa, sometimes I find myself channeling my inner Swede.

The Swede: Mm. I was always more comfortable around numbers than people. I could control numbers.

First two seasons are amazing if you're into westerns. It does lose steam though.

I remember Lilly Bell being attractive. Not Elanor Guthrie from Black Sails hot, but easy enough on the eyes.

It is one of my top 5 series. As others have said, it loses its punch around the third season.

Bohannon's final gun battle when he goes to save Mei is still one of my favorite scenes.
He had tried changing his ways and then suddenly they took what mattered to him away and he just unleashed the demon that had been repressed in order to save her. The way he dealt with Chang and his men was just cold and calculated and that is what made that scene. No fancy dialogue, no over the top action.. Just cold, calculated execution of bad guys.
