Why pay 1300 dollars a night for a hotel room at Walt Disney World?

I just looked at rooms at the Polynesian resort in June for 5 nights. Port Orleans is 288 a night.
Why do some people pay that much for a room if you are at the parks all day? What is the benefit besides using the monorail?
Just found the password to Bayourat15 user name ...its been awhile

Because they want to and they can
Why not just stay at All Star for under $200 a night? Or just stay off property? Or just not go?

Find you one of those weirdo travel agents that knows how to work the Disney system. They can get you on the WDW property for a lot less than that.

The convenience is real
Nobody stays at the Contemporary because it's awesome, they stay there because walking a couple hundred yards with catatonic kids in Florida heat to a icy hotel room beats all the other options

So you looked at one of the most expensive & sought after properties and one of the cheaper ones? The Polynesian is a much more immersive experience than Port Orleans which is more of a hotel.
Since you don't care about the room and are just looking to save money while still staying on property, then go stay at All Star Sports.

Polynesian resort
Our favorite resort and where we stay 90% of the time. We like being on the monorail.
The Osso Bucco at the Grand Floridian Cafe is awesome.
The food at Splitsville in Disney Springs is severely underrated.

Some people have a lot of money. Besides that, those resorts are pretty cool!

Why in the world would you ever visit Orlando in JUNE?

The aroma of the Polynesian lobby.

I haven’t been since 2018 but If I remember correctly, the more expensive your resort, the closer your Disney transportation bus was to the park entrance/exit.

To go to Disney World or Universal when your kids don't have to miss school feels like a really obvious answer

I always stayed offsite.. And to aviod parking fees i would drive to the Polynesian and tell security i wanted to go get a Dole- wip from inside.
I then would park and ride the monorail for free all day. Im sure they have cracked down on all this.

I wanted to stay thee with the kids but my wife reminded me that is didn't make sense. We are at the parks more than we are at the hotel. If we ever go by ourselves, then it would make more sense.

The ones who don't waste it have even more money. Always try to get the best deal. We went twice when the kids were younger. First time we stayed at the African resort or whatever it is where you can see the giraffes and impalas and shite outside your room. We planned that one ourself. The next time we stayed at the Animation Art resort or something like that and it was really cool, closer to the park, and even with having two more kids by that time, we let some weird lady book it for us and we came out better.
Never ever pay full price.

The "deluxe" rooms are basically the same as the moderates, just with a few more amenities.. Being on the monorail does have it's perks...
However, you will not ever find me in value resort... It's gross being around those people, they have no sense of personal space...
When we go, we usually stay at Port Orleans..

What is the benefit besides using the monorail?
Plus Concierge level gets afternoon drinks and snacks to save big $$$’s.

Rent DVC points. There are many websites you can get this done. You can stay at a deluxe level resort for moderate level resort price.
Budget your trip then make your plans within that budget and you will be much happier.
I've stayed at every level, value, moderate and deluxe and each can be a great trip.
If you are going to do parks from open to close, you dont need deluxe or moderate, stay value.
Stay deluxe if you will use the deluxe amenities like better dining, spas, etc. Otherwise it's burning money.

It was this lady my wife used to work with in Georgia. She did it as a part time hustle because she loved Disney so much and used the extra cash to fund her trips. Find any of the weirdo adult people who actually love going there and don't even have kids, and I bet you they have a weird lady.
