Couldn’t adjust when Notre Dame went to zone defense

Yep they just blew that game. Up 7 with 2 1/2 minutes to play and didn't score again until overtime.

Bad loss & they’ve got Duke on Monday

tPear era was fun but seemed to me his teams always played a “street ball” style and won a lot of games on athleticism/talent alone but they never seemed that well-coached. Don’t move the ball around on offense, poor shot selection, etc. Obviously recruiting is probably 80+% of the battle but never seemed like a good Xs and Os coach. I guess McMahon was supposed to be kinda the opposite but this McEra has not been any fun at all.

Not as bad as being up 7 with 1 minute to play and losing in regulation, which he also did a few weeks ago

He’s focused on one job and it’s not North Carolina State. We can hope.

Never seen someone accomplish so little and have a fan base be so infatuated.

Wade is not the best game day coach, but he was great at scouting other teams and attention to details heading into games. The talent and that helped us win a lot of games. When adjustments were made by teams with very good talent during games, he had issues with adjusting at times.
So I think it was a little of both. The teams were usually well coached leading up to the games with our game plan, etc., but slow to counter-adjust during games and got a little street-ballish at times when that happened.

I mean, have you seen the current state of our basketball program? Wade is not the best Xs and Os guy and some people act like he is Coach K or something, but he quickly turned NC State around and they will be in the tourney in his first year there. That will be the 4th school he has taken to the tourney.
He got freaking McNeese to the tourney twice in two years and even got them to the 2nd round of the tourney. He won an SEC regular season championship at LSU and would have taken LSU to 4 straight tourneys if not for COVID. He might not be the best out there, but it's not hard to see why LSU fans like him.

I agree that he’s better than Keatts and was a good hire, but let’s not forget that NC State was in the final four two years ago lol
In fact, NC State’s last two hires got them to the NCAA tournament in their first year after not making it the previous season.

Yeah, I'm not saying he turned around a perennial loser or anything, but that was a Cinderella run that they went on that year and they were terrible last year at 12-19. His predecessors didn't take over teams quite that bad. Wade may have his limitations, but he's a winner.

Nah, he's right. You either don't remember or are being disingenuous.
We were good while Wade was here, but for his entire tenure this board complained that his offenses had zero flow or off ball movement.
When we had a good ball handler like Waters or Smart, it was less noticeable. But his offenses absolutely got by on talent alone.
And I would take him back in a heart beat. Let's just be honest.

This board loves its tired narratives. Muh street ball. McMahon is an X’s and O’s wizard

Amazing how good of a coach Will Wade has been in his career, yet his career has been derailed in year one over two bad ACC losses in year one
Nevermind he didn’t even get to build the roster he wanted being misled over NIL promises

WW WILL bring a lot of talent and excitement back to LSU.The TIGERS will win a lot of games get in the tourney but lose to better coached teams.Thats much better than we have now.

People who say this are retarded.
LSU went to the ncaa tournament 6 times in 24 years before Will Wade was hired.
Will Wade made the ncaa tournament 4 years in a row at LSU.
I wonder why LSU fans like someone who brought consistent winning to the program. Something LSU lacked since the early 90s.

The hatred the junior and lulu’s have for Will Wade is astonishing
Posted on 3/1/26 at 1:32 am to The Boat
The McMen are really ignorant. Wade was building something special at LSU until Woodward and Tate decided to terminate him like cowards.
I would give anything to go back to “street ball.”
