My wife is running in the zydeco half marathon next week. Shes wanting either Italian (pasta) or sushi (rice and noodles) the night before for carbs.
Gives us some recommendations.
Also she wants a good burger after

Marcello’s or Antoni’s for Italian and The Chimes or Burgersmith for a burger. This is from a Shreveport resident who’s made numerous trips to Lafayette the past 3 years since our daughter moved down there.
Folks may frown on Burgersmith, but when you can build your own burger, you’ve got no one to blame but yourself. Ate there 2 weeks ago on a Sunday…added blue cheese, bacon, caramelized onions and extra Smith sauce…pretty damn good. Their garlic butter French fries are legit. Lots of local restaurants are closed on Sunday’s there.

Another vote for Marcello’s, but running 13.1 miles the next morning…may want to lay off the heavy, rich cream pasta sauces.

Rice & Noodles - I’d do Mae Sone Noodle House ; the real deal authentic Vietnamese food and very affordably priced. Blue Basil would be next choice .

Italian: Imonelli, Antoni's, Marcello, Alesi
Sushi: Rock N Sake, Oishi Sushi
Burger: Judice Inn (not exactly an LSU friendly place but the burger is my favorite.) Original Ground Pati on Johnston

Marcelo’s is top notch and I’d highly recommend.
I’m not a big pasta guy but wife loves it so we go. I usually get the filet, which is incredible.
