LSU President Wade Rousse said on Friday that the university will be putting up the Ten Commandments in its classrooms, according to the Louisiana Illuminator’s Piper Hutchinson.

This is in compliance with Act 676 that was signed into law by Gov. Jeff Landry in 2024. The law requires a print of the Ten Commandments to be displayed in public classrooms from elementary to college level.

Rousse told reporters he is waiting for donated posters to put up the signs. According to the law, the display must be in a “large, easily readable font” that is at least 11 inches by 14 inches.

The commandments also must have an accompanying three-paragraph statement explaining their significance to American history.

“Personally, I think, shining a light on God is never a negative thing,” Rousse told reporters, according to Hutchinson.

Society needs this as a whole. There is nothing wrong with it.

And if Muslims don’t like it, then leave. They need to assimilate to our culture, not the other way around

I'm sure he agrees. They'll probably put him right next to Shaq. But bigger.

If you watched any orientation videos the students definitely could use the Ten Commandments. Additionally anyone that is scared off because the Ten Commandments are displayed would be a net win.

On one hand, America was founded as a Christian nation and it bothers me how much many seem to try to distance us from it.

On the other hand, this isn’t being done for the right reasons or by the right person. It’ll only cause division and push people away from the message on those tablets.

Net negative.

I don’t care how much or how little it costs, what a waste of money.

Maybe we can finally acknowledge that separation of church and state is a farce, cut the bullshite and make churches pay taxes. Then there'd at least be a net positive to society from this.

Muslims recognize the Ten Commandments, dumbass. They see Moses as one of the major prophets.

That you assume this is about Muslims shows a laughable degree of ignorance (and bigotry) on the subject.

Seriously, never post again without researching some basic understanding of the thread topic.

All fun and games until Muhammad bin Landry gets elected and little Brayleigh has to read the Quran at morning assembly
