What's impressive about it is this team is being extremely patient at the plate. Taking walks, working counts, playing small ball and hitting bombs. There's a tendency to try to get the "big hit" against lesser teams and so far this team has shown great plate discipline.

No break in the lineup 1-9. And nobody really strikes out a lot either. Gonna be another good year boys

This lineup is an 8 foot gorilla with a chainsaw for a dick.

That's also with 3 or 4(IIRC) games ending early due to run rules as well. These baws are pretty good at the plate.

It is nice. Besides today, they have given up a lot of runs. SEC pitching has shut down LSU bats in the past. I remember in '24 the lineup looked dangerous in non conf games. Then came the SEC and players could not hit those pitchers.

I hope this is not the case this time. I'm glad they are winning. SEC play is the real season.

That 24 team was no where near as deep as this team is. They also struggled much more early on in the season.

Someone started a thread on Saturday begging for fans to be patient with the slow start.

So refreshing to see the patience at the plate and selfless at bats.

I can remember the rant losing their minds so often with pulmonary teams that would swing at every first pitch and swing for the HR when you just needed to move a runner over. Bravo JJ!

You must have forgotten the 2-0 and 4-3 wins vs Central Arkansas

and the 5-2 loss to Stony Brook

I think we had 27 in a game and 18 in a game but we also had some issues

through 8 games we had scored 79 runs.

In 2024 prior to SEC play a sample of LSU’s non conference games:

LSU 2-0 Central Arkansas
LSU 4-3 Central Arkansas
LSU 2-5 Stoney Brook
LSU 5-2 Northern Illinois
LSU 5-4 ULL
LSU 4-3 Southestern
LSU 4-0 Xavier
LSU 1-2 Xavier

There is so much wrong with your comment that I don’t even feel like texting it all. Long story short, actually watch how a good amount of those runs were scored on LSU and you shouldn’t be worried about pitching. Also no shite that the bats won’t be as electric once they start SEC play. Just like all of the other SEC teams will not hit near as well in SEC play. This years lineup is way deadlier than last years and still won 19 conference games and won a national championship. It’s going to be fine.
