The Nugget is 'newer' but LDL seems to have let themselves go.

We don't gamble but sometimes we used to go eat at casinos. The casinos all have become way too trashy over the past several years and the wait staff is horrendous. Plus it smells like weed from the moment you enter until you leave and your food looks and tastes like it was cooked by someone as high or higher than Willie Nelson.

I don't think it is used anymore. There isn't a local rabbi. I think they pay a guy from outside the area to do the big days.
The mosque is by MSU across common, by the student laundromat. It's pretty nice and if you drive on Common you can see the crescent moon above the other properties.
I've been to Temple for services but never the mosque, although I've been invited

I was shocked how much better the nugget was when I first started working in lake Charles in 2021. Hell, I built the horseshoe and the nugget is still better than both.

Stayed at Paragon hotel in Marksville four years ago. It was very run down.
