other than a joke or two not landing over the course of a broadcast I don't think he is horrible. He has some insight that few have.
What is horrible is trying to watch the pga tour these days. Jacob Bridgeman doesn't move the needle, at least for me.

He is beating the best on the planet with good golf. He will be very good going forward.

Knost just has a very unpleasant sounding voice. It’s similar to tom Brady. Even if he is doing “good”, it sounds like shite. And sound is kinda important when your entire purpose is for us to listen to

You may be the only golfer in the world that thinks that.
Years ago we played in Blaine McCallastier's University of Houston tournament.
I can honestly tell you that Nance was so generous with his time, listened to everyone and told some great stories.
He visited with every group on the course and introduced himself . Very much the gentleman.
Now, Roger Clemmons is the exact opposite.

Colt is pretty good at what he does.
But his voice can be grating and talks so fast that sometimes you wonder what he said.

Nantz used to be great and has some iconic calls. But he has been pretty bad at the masters lately. His "stories" that he tells throughout the round about the leaders trying to build up to the greatest story ever told that he tells the entire 18th hole on Sunday. Like jesus dude shut up and call the tournament.
Him telling Rory's same story twice because Rory choked on 18 was hilarious. Like you're really going to tell the same story again?
Just talk about he is making up for blowing it on 18, we don't need the story of Rory putting coins in the machine at the driving range for the 8th time this week. But agree with OP on Colt Knost. I'm fine with some new blood in the booth, but man don't let it be like someone that sounds like a person talking while holding their nose shut. Just an incredibly bad sounding voice.

To each his own on Nance.
He is a seasoned announcer and I am sure that trying to fill four hours of air time can be daunting sometimes.

Colt's Subpar podcast is really well done and he does really good interviews. Not sure he isn't better used as an on course reporter but time will tell.

Colt was fantastic on course! Great interactions with the crowd. Needs some time, he will be fine in the booth. Voice takes some getting used to. Insightful and has great relationships with the players.

I saw a reel of Colt off camera, just talking to a bunch of players, and it was really cool to see. You can tell the players like him.
