He’s chair of the board for life that he created. Who is the oversight committee for those funds? At the very least, he can appropriate funds to his business interests and friends and get kickbacks that way. If this was reversed and Biden did this, PT would collectively stroke out.

Why not. Nothing else has worked in the ME. Try something different.
Hell, there's no way it could fail worse than the UN.
If it doesn't work, scrap it and do something else. Or (hopefully) just walk away from the nation-building aspect of ME diplomacy.
