Why are people so dumb?…especially when it comes to cars?

Edit/Update: go home OP, you’re drunk!
I had this beautiful thing called an AP2 Honda S2000. I bought it second hand out of college with just 12kish miles, one owner for only $19k at a BMW dealership in south Georgia. That same car would be worth well over $80k today had I stored it/put in a garage.
I ended up putting 110k miles on/enjoyed it every last bit before selling because my job required me to be in NYC. I justify it by those miles being worth it.
If I learned anything from tracking motorcycles that are hauled with my simple Tacoma: you don’t need anything beyond a 400cc motorcycle for the street, let alone short tracks which the majority of “track day enthusiasts” ride. I and other amateurs can pass a NEW first time track day 1000cc rider any day in just one lap.
So why do people have these outrageous cars on the street, let alone the track?
Starting to think Miata may be the answer?

He is not wrong, low mileage Honda S2000s are highly sought after

I like to go fast, when I want to go fast.
That's really all I got. (shrugs)

Same. I don’t have anything super fast but sub 12’s as daily drivers is still fun. I’ve always been into HP and just don’t think I’ll ever change. Hate to calculate all the money in cars I’ve spent over the years.

could someone explain this post to a person who is dumb when it comes to cars?

I used to work with a guy who flipped Honda S2000s to make extra cash. He typically owned 3 or 4 and would try to buy them from people who moved to NYC or DC for work and had to get rid of them.
Dude was always working hustles to make extra cash.
Another one of his side gigs was buying used Rolexes in the US that had all of the papers and receipts in order and then reselling them in Germany where they pay a premium for things that have all of the papers and receipts in order.

The only way you’re sniffing close to 80 grand for an S2K is if it was the club racer. The market for the S2000 hit its peak around 22/23 and has since come back down to earth.

No, you can’t and you’re relying on the fact that no one here has likely been on a sport bike track, but you’re wrong. Grew up on tracks and “spirited” street riding. 400s are flickable and fun on the track and you can wind them out with zero skill and the lack of power protects you, but to actually say you’d pass a liter bike with even a mildly experienced track rider on it is fricking ludicrous. Even a track rookie rider on a 1000 would walk you down easily on every straight even if your little 400 sliced them up in the corners. Especially these days with the electronic tech manufacturers put on their flagships, which are certainly not 400s. Get your head out of your arse. “My ninja 400 would lap a ZX10 or V4S.” GTFO here

What kinda communist bullshite is this? Just because a tiny 400cc is enough to scare the shite out of you, doesn't mean the rest of us can't ride liter bikes.

How much were you laughing when you typed that bullshite?

You could see my knee next to the steering wheel when I drove and I am only 6'5" although Greddy made a basic turbo kit for one back in the day for $1600.
