True. And my neighborhood hires a lot of tree cutters to remove big trees after a storm. Not only do the crews have Mexican workers (legal) but some have Mexican females with the crew who pick up all the limbs and debris. And since they are paid by the job they all work very fast.

Jerry Rice worked with his dad during the summers, his dad was a brick layer. Jerry would stand on the scaffold catch the bricks as they threw them up and hand to his father.

I guess I see most black guy working for cities, counties or state governments such as garbage, road crews, folks that have to actually do E-Verify without faking it. I see a lot of blacks doing logging and such, too. Anything from yard to roof and everything in between, illegals more than likely.

Yeah I mean this thread obviously has a POV. Throw in a dash of welfare policy, and it becomes easy to see how so-called nativism takes hold. Like I’m for American blacks. Idgaf about Mexicans who want to come here. American blacks’ real problems are my real problems (I am white). We should not help Mexicans or any poor souls from south of our borders until our American black brothers and sisters are doing better. And if they don’t ever do better, then so be it.

Illegals are cheaper and work harder. It sucks but those construction bosses are just making business decisions, and will keep doing it until they actually fear huge fines and/or criminal prosecution.

My brother is a forester in Arkansas. He started out supervising planting crews. They always use Mexican crews during planting season. The planters get paid based on how many bundles of trees they plant. Each of those bundles have hundreds of tree saplings for planting.
They once hired a black crew to plant trees. Instead of planting the bundles of trees, they hid a bunch of them under bushes and shite and tried to get paid for planting them.

There is another side to this. The construction company can hire illegals for lower rates than citizens. Those illegals can work cheaper than citizens - they receive govt programs, they don't purchase insurance, etc. and they send their remittances back home.
The American worker cannot afford to work at such rates.
I knew lots, lots of white people who worked construction 40 years ago. Welders, electricians, carpenters, and on.
