For the tournament. So you’re saying there’s a chance?

Zero chance barring a 2003-like run here

Is there some new tournament below the NIT that I'm not familiar with?

There's CBI and CIT tournaments for underachieving clubs. But even those events have pride and standards for admittance.

I hope they don’t accept an NIT , just end this nightmare so we can get a new coach and start the rebuild

Yeah, you have to pay for admittance.

No way. As an LSU fan at this point I really don’t want to see this LSU team anywhere near the tournament. But in truth there is a near zero chance, so I guess there’s a chance, lol!

LSU is still lingering in the NET (67) and KenPom(55 ) rankings.

That probably disappears by this time next week.

One Q1 loss now, and there will still be some who talk about LSU being in the conversation for the bubble for the last 4 in, at least within the national media. Two will push them far enough out in the predictive rankings like NET, KenPom, and Torvik that the national media will finally come to the same conclusion that LSU fans have for some time now.

Texas has won four games in a row; they're looking like a solid tournament team after struggling a bit earlier. Last time out they had a convincing 85-68 triumph @ Missouri. I think they'll pound LSU in Austin tonight, and put to rest any "last four in"/ "first four out" idiocy surrounding the Fighting McMen.

Has LSU actually won a Quad 1 game?

Yes, 1. They beat SMU, who is NET 36 right now, in a neutral site game. Also, 2 Q2 wins.

Fully expect that.

It'll all depend on where they drop in the NET. Losing a Q1 game away doesn't always have a significant impact on your NET. I'm not saying it shouldn't drop LSU a lot; heck, they should probably already be lower. Ultimately, because of where they are now and this being a Q1 away game, I think it'll take the additional loss to Alabama in the PMAC for the talking heads to completely dismiss LSU, even if I agree they should have already.
