22 pistol, what should I buy? Update in the OP

Went shooting this morning up in the mountains and buddy had a suppressed 22. Glock 44.
The glock felt a little cheap so wondering what other options are out there. Recommendations?
Got the Ruger 22/45 that was on sale at PSA, also picked up the Holosun 507C red dot as it was on sale also. Trying to decide on a suppressor now, looking at the For Systems Pluto or Pluto Micro. Will also use it on the carbon 10/22. Any recommendations on a can?

I got a ruger revolver, that's a worthy shooter. good for rat shot, snek shot and long rifle

22/45 or mk4 or buckmark
I dont like normal slides on a .22 pistol. It doesnt make any sense for them to work that way except as a trainer.

Yea I have a revolver, looking for a SA.
Also something I can get with a threaded barrel.

I have shot a Ruger MKII forever, which is now a MKIV, and they are bombproof. Somewhat expensive though these days. A cheaper auto option is the Taurus, and the Ruger Super Wrangler if a revolver is okay with you.

S&W M&P compact .22
Browning Buckmark
Ruger mark 4
I have an Sig 322 and a Taurus TX22. Can’t recommend either. Took too much work to get them shooting reliably.
Would like to try the new S&W high capacity .22 but haven’t yet.

I bought a browing buckmark in 1992
When i turned 16 my dad had said he wouldn’t let me get a pistol till i turned 18 but slid it to 16 since it was a 22.
It is one of the most shootable guns I own and I have shot probably 10k rounds through it you can get them with threaded barrels now and I will probably end up buying a aftermarket barrel for it once I get a suppressor.

If I were buying one all over again I would likely go with a Browning Buckmark.
I have an FN 502 tactical and it’s fine but not as good as it should be.

Mine has a tactical solutions barrel on it. It’s great and very light. I bought mine in the early ‘90s.
Oh, Will add the Walther P22 to the list. I don’t own one but have shot one a decent amount. Worked perfectly and very accurate.

Retay makes a threaded .22. One thing I like about it is the magazines are metal not plastic.

PSA had the Ruger on sale so pulled the trigger, also got a holosun 507C. Need to figure out what suppressor I am going to put on it.

I seriously love my keltec p17. For $159 it’s really hard to beat. Comes with 3 mags and threaded barrel and it’s honestly been super reliable for me. I carry it in the woods all the time.

I'd rather shoot my Ruger Mark II than any other pistol. But I dread taking that thing apart like pulling teeth.

I want one of these bad bad. Whats held me back is the sights appear awful in pictures. How are they? Tall enough for a suppressor?
OP: my suppressor nerd buddy says dead air mask. I have heard one before and with those 700 fps loads in a bolt rifle its quieter than a red Ryder bb gun

Taking it apart is manageable but yes a pain. It is not difficult, but I just do it so seldom that I forget how to take the gun apart since the process is so gun-specific. But you know what? You really don't need to strip it. I clean the barrel with a rod, and use q-tips for the feed ramp and whatever else I can get to that looks dirty. I've shot thousands of rounds through my gun using this maintenance routine. I doubt that I have stripped it more than four or five times.

Really any .22 silencer with subs is stupid.
Rugged Oculus, Q El Camino, and Surefire Ryder all sound pretty much the same with my Ruger Precision .22. With subs, all you hear is the strike of the firing pin.
I’ve shot mine before with my wife sitting beside me at my farm and she didn’t even know I shot it.

You'll NEVER go wrong with a Browning Buckmark or a Ruger Mark IV.

Buy the Ruger MK 4
Pick up a couple of boxes of Remington SubSonics and give it a try.
I shoot a MK lll Hunter.
Runs fine and accurate
