Massie voted against a procedural rule tied to the SAVE Act because of concerns over a stealth rules change that allows spending bills to come to the floor without the now-required 24-hour notice. Thomas Massie regularly opposes bills that include problematic provisions, extraneous spending, or other hidden “Easter eggs.”

Yet Massie supports the requirement for proof of citizenship to vote and stated that he would support the SAVE Act when it comes to the final floor vote. And Massie apparently did just that:

I wish it could outlaw maIl ballots for fed offices too. But if you have to prove by ID to get a mail ballot thats better than nothing
