If there was a Re-Draft right now. Do you think Queen goes top 5?

Derik Queen (New Orleans Pelicans) is a top-performing 2025-26 NBA rookie, ranking 1st in total rebounds, 1st in total assists, and 1st in double-doubles among rookies . He is also 2nd in total blocks, 3rd in total steals, and 4th in total points (\(12.2\)

Wonder where he ranks in minutes played vs. other rookies.

Yes. Definitely behind Flagg and Kon. Probably behind Edgecomb
I think that's it

Top 4 still go top 4. And I'm sure Jazz still value Bailey's long term upside over Queen. Queen is also an older freshman/rookie for his class, already 21 when other rookies are 20. The main reason teams were low on him and probably still are-- is his defense and motor. Same with Fears being a smaller guard. They will have to get to elite offense level while raising their defense to average/good to really hit.
Probably ranks higher than Tre Johnson at 6, Fears about even? Then Demin at 8 has actually been really good and is younger. CMB at 9 has been really good, as good defensively as a rookie as DQ is good offensively. Maluach- still higher long term upside, but he hasn't shown much so far. 11- Coward. He's been really good. 12- Essengue- the fans wish they had Queen or the pick trade.
1- Flagg
2- Harper- still huge upside
3/4- Edcombe , Kon
5/6/7/8/- Coward, Demin, Queen, Fears, Bailey

Flagg, Kon, and VJ are all playing over 32mpg.
Coward, Bailey, DQ, Fears, Sion James, Tre Johnson and Demin are all playing 24-26mpg.
Trey Johnson only played 39 games, everyone else is at 48-54 games played.

It does no good dwelling on it but my God why not just draft Queen at 8

Fears was one of the youngest players in the draft. I know there's alot of hype about the upcoming top 5 rookies but Fears could easily be in those talks and at worst right outside of them.
Hitting on 2 top 10 picks is a miracle and blessing for the Pels regardless if it was the same year or b2b years.
I still like the aggressiveness to get the talents of Fears/ Queen. You have to respect our FO and scouts for going after Queen, Fears, and Bey.
The issue is that you let off the aggression and continue to get complacent with Zion and others.
You made the trade and we still weren't good enough. Now you have to trade Z to recoup your pick + start the rebuild.
All it would take is Z and Herb. That's a minimum of 3 1st and potentially a good bit more. Add Poole to one of those trades if possible this offseason and we are on track.

Aside from Flagg, who would you give up two lottery picks for?

Who gave up 2 lottery picks? Last time I checked the most given up was a lottery pick and #23.
Also what kind of lottery picks? I'd trade #13 and #14 for Queen, VJ, Flagg, Kon, Harper, Fears.

I’d still take Kon, Flagg and Edgecombe over Queen but he would be in the 5-7 range for me.

You would still take Harper over Kon after how 1/2 the year has played out? Flagg is the only player I would have taken Kon over to start the draft and that still hasn’t changed. If the Pels had gotten Kon over Fears I’d love the outlook of the team. He would gave been the perfect player to pair with Zion and Trey. Zion would have had 2 sharpshooters teams would have to factor in, 3 if you include Bey.

I think Queen would goes 3-5.
If Queen were reclassified and entered into the 2026 draft, I think he probably goes 4-6.
Please nba gods do not let our pick land in the top 3.

The redraft goes
Flagg
Knueppel
Edgecombe
Queen
Harper
As much as I like Harper, his shooting has really been questionable and that was considered a good skillset he had. While Edgecombe started hot, cooled down, and now leveled his shooting. He's the most athletic guard in this draft and he's shown substantial promise.
You just can't get over knueppel's shooting, it's elite. Period.

In a redraft I'm taking Queen 2.
Flagg is still No. 1
Harper and Edgecomb aren't even in the convo for me.
Kon is very good but I also think he's not going to get that much better than he is right now.
Queen's upside is massive.

A very realistic redraft IMO would be:
1. Flagg
2. Kon
3. VJ
4. Harper
5. Queen
6. Fears
7. Tre
8. Bailey
I'd personally go:
#4 Queen
#5-#6 Fears/ Harper tie.
None of the top 4 have been bad enough to get kicked from the top 4. Harper maybe for Queen but he hasn't played bad by any means.

He was a very polarizing player in last year's draft and he would have had to overcome those concerns this year to be considered a lottery pick in 2026.
If Queen were reclassified and entered into the 2026 draft, I think he probably goes 4-6.

No. I’m saying with the benefit of seeing Queen in the NBA, if he were magically available in the 2026 draft, he probably goes 4-6.
