I spy 10 RBs in the league today that do what he did.

If you have to wait 33 years to get into the hall of fame on your last chance... You're not a HOFer.

It's that simple. You're either one or not. It should take 2 seconds to decide.

He was in a system that fit him perfectly, and he will high knee you in the jaw if you disagree.

I have an unpopular opinion, there should be no minimum or maximum class sizes and you should not be eligible until 10 years after retirement.

You get one chance to get in. If you don’t make it in the first vote, you’re not HOF material.

In his defense , he was the first run/pass catch back. The system created him and ultimately produced more , but what he accomplished during his era was unheard of as compared to contemporaries and predecessors. He gets in the same as older era WR. They stood out amongst their peers.

He was the first NFL player to have 1,000 yards rushing and receiving in the same season. Marshall Faulk and Christian McCaffrey are the only other players to have accomplished that feat.

For an offensive POY, 3 time SB winner, all-decade team member it was kinda odd it took so long. He was the only skill position player on the 70's, 80's and 90's all-decade team to not be in.

You’re giving the stupid voters way too much credit.

He was a Finalist all the way back in 2010.

The people who covered his career in real time didn't vote him in.

He was a Semifinalist 9 times.

Some sportswriter HOF voter wrote a column that he didn't vote for Belichick because he wanted Roger Craig and LC Greenwood to get in and those guys were running out of chances while Belichick would have plenty of more chances.

Is it lost on you that he started doing the things you say 10 RBs do today 43 years ago?

Was he, though? Off the top of my head, Jim Kiick and Preston Pearson come to mind as the first "3rd down" specialists out of the backfield. Sure, Craig was an every down back. But he wasn't the first receiving option running back. His numbers just don't support him.
