Sell me on why I keep hearing draft social media type people telling me that a talented WR that's missed 49% of his college games due to injury is the prospect that the Saints can't pass on at #8?

Not knocking the kids talent, but come on, Zion Williamson is talented too.

Have we forgotten about Michael Thomas already?

IMO hopefully you/re not picking in the top 10 very often so when you do you can't afford to blow it or take risks.

i see zero comparisons. Thomas was healthy in college and one of the goats in nfl first four years.

That's because you focus on the great beginning to his career and block out the miserable failure of how it ended.

A total of 20 games in his last 4 season 20-23 and a whopping 4 TDs.

All because if constant re occurring injuries.

What I see is, likely drafting the 2020 version of Thomas, Knowingly.

so the comparison is player B had injuries at some point in his latter part of nfl career that he never could recover from.

player A had injury in college that from all aspects is completely healed from and has moved on just like any other college player that has had an injury in college.

also to use this comparison, you absolutely draft Tyson at 8 if you know you get Thomas production the first four years of his career!

While this ultimately led to the demise of MT13's career, this is not the same thing for Tyson.

2022: Missed 3 games due surgery to repair ACL/MCL/PCL
2023: Missed 9 games to recover from 2022 surgery
2024: Missed 2 games due to broken collar bone
2025: Missed 3 games due to hamstring injuries (returned to play)

I am not saying they should have him as a top 8 player on their board, I just don't see this as the same as MT who went from an ankle injury needing surgery (eventually ), then needing a 2nd surgery, then having a hamstring setback or 2, then another lower leg or knee injury to the same leg....

I don’t want anything to do with this player. He might be great but he can do it for another team with his injury history

We need someone that is low risk, high floor like Downs (my preference at this point) or Tate if we go WR early

Tyson would be a “I hope I’m wrong” pick if they made it. I’d pass on him due to injury history. We already have a dynamic but injury prone receiver.

I don't like any of these guys. I trade back n try n collect draft picks for next year if at all possible. This is a horrible draft based on talent, our needs, and where we are drafting. All these guys are tweeners at the top end of the draft or positions like rb that usually dont have the value when taking this high.

Jets
Type of org that would trade up to our 8 pick to get two top ten pics lol. They have very nice multiple pics in 2nd round. First round we should still have a very good pic for guard or def tackle.

I just don't see a WR at 8.

I like Tyson a lot. With that being said i just can’t pull the trigger at 8 with that injury history. But plenty of players who are injured in college turn out to have successful careers in the nfl. I assume the MT comparisons are due to route running and size. Tyson needs to add weight to him but, I believe Tyson goes somewhere in the 15-20 range. I’m not sure there’s a wr in this draft worthy of 8. Tate is gonna post a pretty slow 40 time.

I was never comparing Tyson to Thomas in anything except the fact the Tyson has missed almost half of his college games because of injury and Thomas lost his career (with the Saints at least because he couldn't stay healthy.

Never said Tyson would preform like Thomas in his first 4 years, Never said Thomas entered the league with an injury history, but some posters above hijacks is and made it about comparing the tow players.

I agree there is a lot to like about Tyson game and normally I don't like WRs as high as 8 but if Tyson didn't have the injury history I'd likely want him but you shouldn't be rolling the dice with a #8 pick.

it was a dumb comment.

Good WRs in second round. Bernard and Sarratt look promising.

ACL.. for a skill guy

I just think we need a clean bill of health WR given Olave’s concussions and the blood clot issues

I like Boston and Bell much better than Tate and Tyson. Both of those dudes are gonna be very good nfl players.

Agree but I’d only want Tate if the top 3 edge guys are off the board.

I’m not a fan of taking Tyson at #8. I don’t think he’s that explosive and he’s injury prone on top of that. I’d prefer Tate over him if we went WR.

I want to see the big CFL wr we picked up. And you're 100% correct on the need for YAC WRs. We have all possession guys. Hilton Brown anyone?
