It’s the culmination of all of Cronenberg’s body horror films to that point. Jeff Goldblum should have been nominated for best actor.

Should've won it. Crazy he wasn't even nominated. I watched The Fly & Color of Money in theater & JG's performance was just better.

Should have been a contender for best soundtrack too.

One of my early memories is prob being like 5 and seeing my dad watch this movie and being really freaked out that something like that could really happen

Ha, I have the exact same memory around 4-5 as well. I distinctly remember being freaked the frick out by the vomiting scene

Great example of why I hate CGI. It wouldn't have been freaky at all just watching an animation the whole movie. Nothing beats great practical effects and makeup

This is a truly great movie. I think the sequel is underrated also.

The arm wrestling scene is what I recall too. Dude walks into the bar with no shirt eating a candy bar.

Until the transformation got out of hand it must have been nice banging a young Geena Davis over and over until she was wore slap out

For whatever reason, I thought this was going to be a comedy.

It's not.

It was strange putting it on stream, expecting laughs then watching it. Aside from my misconception, I really liked it.

Same crazy how in the 80s our parents were totally cool with little kids watching R rated movies. I remeber they would try and cover my eyes when there was nudity. But gore was fine.
