Both coaches took just a year to get their teams to top of SEC. Meanwhile @LSU, it's coach continues to suck!!

McComeon Mahon! Everyone knows it takes seven years for a coach to bring in his own players to fit his system. This is year 0 anyway because of Wade.

Yes but are they nice guys? I don’t want to deal with any jerks. Winning comes second here.

You never know when you hire mid major coaches. It’s a crap shoot McMahon was very successful at Murray St. Sometimes you get an Oats or Bucky. Sometimes you get a McMahon.

Having watched our game vs. A&M - I did not find them to have all that great a talent, and they were not very good OOC honestly. Yet they are 7-2 in the SEC and took Bama to the buzzer in Tuscaloosa last night......just sayin.

That's true. I've long said the initial hire wasn't the "sin". If you compared McMahon's resume to, say, Todd Golden's, who now has a national championship at Florida, most would have taken McMahon on that basis alone.

It's the continuing on with a HC that clearly isn't going to take the program to any great heights that is the "sin". MM was very obviously in over his head in year 1. To anyone who was unsure, last season confirmed that. Yet, here the program sits in year 4...continuing to go nowhere...and we STILL have people advocating to keep the guy for year 5.

I don't know if McMillan will work out in the long run for A&M. And I don't know who LSU will hire when they eventually move on from MM (hopefully in about a month). But it is frustrating to watch A&M...at team that replaced every player from last year's roster...sitting at the top of the SEC standings with their only two losses being @ Tennessee (2OT) and @ Alabama (by 3) with a new coach who would have taken the LSU job had it been open and offered to him last season. All, while LSU, again, sits at the bottom of the league and fans are left "celebrating" "not quitting" and wins over other bottom dwellers.

Now tell us which of their coaches inherited a program with an empty roster while facing potential NCAA draconian sanctions.

Did either coach lose their best inside player to injuries two years in a row.

Did either coach lose their best player and potential All SEC point guard for the first three weeks of the season.

Oh, and thanks for starting another thread shitting on McMahon. I guess the previous 17,694 similar ones were not enough for you, huh? You fricking assholes are so insufferable. Insipid motherfricking pseudo fans.

Did you miss earlier where Alt said that A&M didn’t have a single returning player on this year’s roster? Do you know how to read?

Must have missed it , guess it was buried up in the 17,000+ posts on the same subject.

You didn't answer my other three questions? Can you read?

People are saying mean things again about that laughably bad coach that I’m stupid enough to continue supporting because I fully embrace mediocrity in every facet of my life

Every new coach inherits an empty roster. Hell, MM himself "inherited" a roster this year even MORE empty than the one he had in his first season. Also, people might take this post a little more seriously if you avoided the word "draconian". The only people who thought the sanctions were going to be bad were the handful of LSU fans wetting their beds in worry...without looking at the several other programs in the same investigation getting nothing in terms of meaningful sanctions.

I may have missed it. Did Nwoko get hurt this season? Jalen Reed, from inconsistent role player to All SEC...by doing nothing more than (unfortunately) being injured. What a meteoric rise!

LSU is 0-3 in SEC play when him in the lineup. Sadly that excuse, like so many others over the last (nearly) four years, once again falls flat.

As for the 17,000+ other posts at least someone is talking about basketball. At least it shows some fans (though maybe dwindling in number) still care enough to be mad about the horrible results of the last 4 years and demand a change. If not for that, there would be NO discussion whatsoever other than, maybe, the 2,000 people in regular attendance reminiscing over that time they got lucky to beat Kentucky 2 years ago...or all those times McMahon beat South Carolina.

Would you have made these excuses for Brian Kelly? His potential number 1 pick in the draft and Heisman candidate QB was injured the whole year. The answer to the question is NO because he and McMahon both suck. You are either an idiot or Mrs McMahon.

You are such a loser. I'm happy our current fb coach doesn't have your "I can't " attitude. I'm hoping our new basketball coach doesn't either.

You see, the good to great coaches make lemonade out of lemons. The coaches that can't hack it need excuses made for them, and here you come again FLYING to the rescue of a coach that has no business being at LSU.

Do you really want the program to be successful? It sure doesn't seem that way to me.
