A federal judge in Oregon temporarily limited federal agents’ use of nonlethal munitions against protesters outside of an Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) facility in Portland, Ore.

quote:

In his Tuesday order, Judge Michael H. Simon said the nation is at a “crossroads” between a free democracy and authoritarianism.

“We have been here before and have previously returned to the right path, notwithstanding an occasional detour,” Simon wrote in the ruling. “In helping our nation find its constitutional compass, an impartial and independent judiciary operating under the rule of law has a responsibility that it may not shirk.”

On July 14, 2010, President Barack Obama nominated Simon to a seat on the United States District Court for the District of Oregon

quote:

Simon specifically restricted federal agents from using several “chemical and projectile munitions” against protesters at the facility, “unless the specific target of such a weapon or device poses an imminent threat of physical harm to a law enforcement officer or other person.”

Arrest that POS Judge now. How can a Judge be immune from arrest with so much political bias in its decisions? Without arrest, continue tear gas and tell it to "Come and get me, bruh"!!

Yea, the judiciary branch trying to unilaterally run all 3 branches from the bench is much more authoritarian than democratic. They have that right there, just not the way it was intended.

I say, have it your way... no more nonlethal munitions. Now, let's see what these agents have remaining in their toolbox....

I had to go see HR at a previous employer after being asked by a liberal coworker “since you are in the National Guard, and if their was a protest somewhere, would you be forced to infringe on people’s constitutional rights to protest?”

I said “forced? I’d teargas one of them liberal turds for fun.”

Was that wrong? Lmao

You should file a civil rights suit, for fun. Someone is going to have to stand up to one of these black robed dictators and say no more. Cite the statute violated and the reasoning. If you cannot, pound sand.

None. No precedent. No law. Something about being at a crossroads. No authority other than how he FEELS about it.

They want federal agents to just stand there while they get pelted with frozen water bottles a the protesters have weapons.

While the judge is at it, should add a line item in there what uniforms the agents should wear....and what they should be able to eat for breakfast before starting their shift.
