Was the first one good? I've never heard anyone talking about it.

No

Everyone in it is unlikable except Stanley Tucci

You are supposed to pull for Anne Hathaway, but she is a conniving piece of shite

I was pulling for the magazine to go under. That is the only poetic and satisfying ending I could imagine

Actually I think that's what made it good for me. I would expect folks in that business to be like that. I would not expect many at all to be likable and for me I don't need everyone to be likable to enjoy the movie.

Couldn’t stand the first one and this one looks to up the cringe level by 1000x.

This is the most accurate description of the first one I've ever read. Adrian Grenier is a decent dude, and Anne Hathaway's character just destroys him.

It's an interesting "grind and shine" movie, but ultimately the grind is a vapid, pointless mess, and everyone in it is desperately unhappy. The Hero's Journey is fulfilled, but also flipped because AH ends up being a bitterly unlikeable politician.

Yet, despite all of that, it's a genuinely "fun" movie to watch. Says a lot about the chemistry of the characters.

I thought she became a journalist in the end? Did I miss something?

Sorry, I didn't mean that she entered politics- I meant that she was a corporate ladder hopper - a conniving offixe politician.

I did too. In the high stakes world of fashion, I don't really expect there to be decent people running about like some people are complaining about.

It also must be a good script for Streep to break her no sequel rule. Or she really love the character.

Outside of the Vincent Chase boyfriend angle I thought the first one was really good and I have watched it a dozen times probably.

No homo.

But with Anne Hathaway and Emily Blunt in the same movie do i really have to say no homo?

I watched this trailer and cannot fathom what the plot actually is. Like why is Anne Hathaway back at Runway 20 years later.

Like you, I enjoyed it. Of course a lot of the folks weren’t likable. That’s how most would indicate the fashion industry is. I didn’t like anybody in Succession either but enjoyed the show.

Looking forward to this one as well.

It says she is Chief Editor which makes sense. First one established she was very talented writer. The whole Miranda doesn't remember me angle seems silly out of context.

There’s a brief mention in another clip I watched that she’s a new editor at Runway. Would make sense for her character arc.

I get the impression that Emily is maybe trying to take over with Miranda possibly being ousted (over her age I’m guessing).

I think they’re purposefully trying to get it under wraps.

Yea, are they going with her having dementia? Miranda was a mastermind that would never forget something like that

First one is definitely a guilty pleasure movie, so I'm sure I'll see this one as well.

I think the obvious answer is that Miranda definitely remembers her but is being a bitch by pretending this person that left her is beneath her remembrance
