On average, 10 years or so.

Sold a 2007 suburban in 23 that I bought in 09.

I have a Kia that I bought new in 15 that I just put up for sale.

It depends. Anywhere from 4 to 8 years.

I keep them until the wheels fall off (figuratively).

Specifically I replace it when buying a replacement becomes cheaper than keeping the current one running. No reason to take on the major expense before you have to, plus I can't stand all the bells and whistles they put in newer vehicles.

I kept my first Tundra to 200k. Sold it to a coworker and he drove it at least for another 5 years then lost track of him as I had moved on.

Current Tundra is at 245k. Will keep it until it has a major issue. Learned my lesson the first time.

Zero issues with either. Paid cash for both. First one was $19k. Current one, bought used 9 years ago for $16k.

Usually just before the manufacturer’s bumper to bumper portion of the warranty expires…

Has happened twice now.

2012 Wrangler, no plans for something new anytime soon. Cost + can’t stand the new tech/screens

BMW: 2001 - 2005 (4 yrs) hated it
Jaguar: 2005 - 2009 (4 yrs) hated it
Toyota Tundra: 2009-2013 (4 yrs) Traded b/c I liked the new body style
Toyota Tundra: 2013 - 2017 (4 yrs) Should have kept this truck longer
Toyota Tundra: 2017-2025 (8 yrs) Some idiot crashed into me - Totaled it
Toyota Tundra: 2025 -

So, for me the average has been a little over 4 years, but truthfully I should have stayed longer in some of these vehicles. I am just a dumb arse and get impatient sometimes

Of course you did. The OT would expect nothing else.

08 HHR that I bought in 12 and should last until I die. She has 115,300 on the odometer. Regularly maintained and still looks like a new one.

I still love that car.

I used to get a new one every 5-6 years. Now I'm a little older and don't really give a shite about vehicles anymore. I'd rather not have a payment. I'm not even starting to think about replacing my 9 yr old truck. I hope it lasts another 9 years.

I bought my 2023 Tacoma with intentions of driving it until I die. I just retired, and the truck just turned 20k miles. I hope it holds up to plan.

2015 Suburban ~ 170k miles. Been all over the country and still cheaper to maintain than buying new.
