Good Lord, that wind is biting. I’m in the same spot I hunted yesterday evening at the southern end of a slough. I’m about 27-28ft up a cypress and the wind is brutal up here. Typically, I shoot an iron will fixed head, but I keep a couple G5 dead meats in the quiver for days like today. Good luck to anyone braving this weather. Stay warm!

That’s why I decided against going today. The wind is stupid.

Good luck! Brutal out there. Hope you blast one in the lower leg, then in its brisket, and then the final kill shot in the chest!

Cold as all get out and super windy.
Running dogs. Kids are in the truck with heater pumping. Triple digit doe killed early. A few small bucks passed. Tough, tough conditions.

Area 2 public. I couldn’t help myself. Last sit of the season. I’m ground hunting in a bit of an open area in a reforestation area. Wind is whipping but I’m mostly protected by downed trees and brush.

I moved from where I was this morning, to some sign I found yesterday while walking in. I’m on a little ridge, with the bottom that I believe they are bedding in, to the north. I’m 20 yards from the edge of it, in a locust tree. The worst damn trees to climb, but it was the only good tree that would give me a perfect shot to the rub coming out of the bottom. If he doesn’t come through this evening, or tomorrow morning, I’ll actually be surprised. I have a lot of confidence in this spot. This is the rub I’m over, and he has a scrape on side of me, a little further on the ridge.
