This is going to be a shite show.

Former UCLA standout Amari Bailey said he is attempting to become the first basketball player to return to college after playing in NBA games. Bailey, 21, has hired an agent and a lawyer to prepare to fight for NCAA eligibility with hopes to join a college team and play one more season.
This is going to be a shite show.

If anything is going to put an end to the nonsense, the NBA and NFL losing out on players because they want to stay in college will.

frick. This.
I understand and actually agree with entering the draft, even being drafted, and returning to school in all sports. However once you got to an American pro league after high school you should be ineligible to participate in NCAA sports.

Do these former players have no shame

quote:I tend to agree. I don’t see a reason their eligibility should end until they sign that professional contract. I know the line is blurred currently between amateur and professional, but for this type of situation, seems a logical dividing line is that contract with a professional organization.

They’re not losing out on anybody they actually want… like this Bailey dude who had a cup of coffee in the NBA but let’s be honest, he had a slim chance of making it back
Now we really get to test all those comparisons between NBA and college talent. Some of yall think the pro jerseys make guys Superman
Fun fact: his dad is former New Orleans VooDoo Aaron Bailey, who had him in New Orleans in 2004

They won't. Only bums are trying to come back to college. They aren't passing up the league, they're trying to not go overseas or slumming in the G League.

Word it something like signing a contract with the NBA, NFL, MLB, and NHL ever or with an international professional organization of your respective scholarship sport after the age of 18 renders you ineligible for NCAA sports participation.

Horse is out of the bawn and the floodgates will open.
This will happen soon with an NFL practice squad or backup player. shite nothing would surprise me anymore.

As long as they don’t play professionally, sure.

D1 coaches will now have to recruit NFL practice squads now, in addition to the transfer kids and high school kids.

Bc they can make more $$$ in college. Put a salary cap for college teams in NIL funds, and this goes away
