The Coopers are looking strong. Might be your Sat-Sun combo

I'd like to see Moore on Fridays. He has shown that he has the stuff and is used to being stretched out longer than any other projected starter we have. I feel like due to his experience that he could give us a better advantage starting a series than Evans, Williams or Schmidt.

Cowan has started in a similar role before he transferred here but Moore is pumping strikes and working out of jams on another level and he gives you a proven arm that can get you deeper into a series opener and position your staff best for the series.

Haven’t seen Cooper pitch.

What type of pitcher is he? Power? Location?

16 K's is a lot for any time of year. Look forward to seeing both pitch this season.

Yeah, maybe so, but I'm guessing it will be Evans or Schmidt. A lot of good arms!

Moore starting to emerge as the guy Jay was so fond of in the fall. Slow start for Evans, but I’m not worried about him.

Braun off to a good start at the plate this spring…hitting over .400.

Moore’s performance yesterday was not indicative of his normal outings. He usually pitches to contact to get outs. His location is key to his success, IMO. I like his composure and competiveness. His experience is a plus.

Braun is forcing his hand for some playing time, here. I thought Harden was a shoe-in for the 4th OF spot (and he still may be) but Braun has not stopped hitting.

He is hitting well but he just gets on base at a high clip. Whether it's being a ball magnet or taking walks he does whatever is required. Absolutely love what I see from the kid.

Has only been on base once (BB too) in 4 winter scrimmages, not the time to be slumping for trying to put your name out there for playing time for sure.

I would be shocked if Casan didn't get the mound on opening night...but Moore looks to be the guy that can get us what we need on Friday nights. He isn't as electric of an arm as recent Friday workhorses but I see more upside so far to him going first on a weekend.

I know it isn't against SEC competition, but just a glance at his bio last year from Kansas that I posted below shows what he can provide if he can duplicate it at this level.

-Earned the win in his first career start at Texas A&M-Corpus Christi 2/17/25 (W, 5.0 IP, 4 H, 0 R, 0 BB, 4 SO)

-No. 15 MLB Draft prospect for 2025 in the Big 12 by D1Baseball

Not knocking or ruling out any of our potential sophomore starter prospects or the other upperclassmen pitchers, but this guy looks to be able to give you a chance to win and preserve the bullpen opening up a series. That's not mentioning that he performed very well in fall and seems to pick it up where he left off so far in intrasquad play. He could definately emerge as a series opener if he continues to perform well.

I haven't looked at the specific teams he faced, but there are a lot of Big 12 teams that would be just fine in the SEC. TCU, ASU, Arizona, West Virginia, Texas Tech, Oklahoma State are all strong. K State, Houston, UCF, and Cincy are good depth teams in conference. Utah and BYU are fine.

I know it's a step up from an every single week standpoint. There are no breaks in SEC play. But the Big 12 probably has more consistent difficult competition than the ACC. Even if the ACC has higher highs, they have more and lower lows.
