LSU spent $2 million on hoops last season when all SEC teams were way ahead of that pace.
I also read where softball got more NIL this offseason despite the classic underachieving Beth Torina
Don't be shocked if Neal replaces Torina at end of season
Meanwhile baseball continues to get put on the backburner
LSU needs to decide which of these programs it wants to support because they seem to be all in on gymnastics and women's hoops

Ge the right coach in place for basketball and then give it the support, pretty simple
McMahon was never going to be it, awful fit here from the beginning

Anyone that knows the sport of basketball fairly well can see this guy CANNOT coach and motivate.
He has no style or brand or vision…he simply calls plays…it’s actually pretty pathetic

It’s wild how much y’all don’t understand private donations and NIL

For clarity. I think the $2 million was for 2024-25. For this season, McMahon reportedly got around $8 million to build a roster.

Nicholas is the Matt McMahon of tiger droppings.

lol wat?
here is the financial statement from the most recent fiscal year.
LSU baseball's expenses were only a million less than men's basketball and 3x more than softball or gymnastics
LINK
And that expense report doesn't even account for NIL money baseball receives which is significant

While I agree with the previous financial issues and the injury to DJ costing them some games there is no excuse for losing to SC and Miss St at home even without DJ. You just came off a great game at Ark where you basically gave them the most competitive game they have had this year at home and you are still mathematically alive, albeit you need to go on a run, but to come out flat against Miss St at home is the nail in the coffin. Absolutely cannot defend that.

Even if he is not getting the resources, you still have to move on. Eventually, a culture of failure sets in and the coach is tainted goods. You see this even with successful coaches who couldn't quite reach the max potential (look at the NFL this off season).

If they get the right coach LSU basketball will win immediately. I don't know how many times this has to be proven by other teams for you dummies to get it in your heads.
LSU can win at basketball.
LSU can win at basketball.

Compared to McMahon... Beth is a rock star.
How many games could LSU MMB have won this season with an above average HC? He's had some moments but it's time to part ways.

Woodward's trophy hunting.
What we DON'T need to do is spend any money getting rid of her. Let her coast to retirement, then return women's bball to its rightful DEI place.

I don't have the numbers on this but I'd be willing to bet there are a shite ton of tiny schools putting the same amount or less into their basketball program that would beat this team, or any of McTrash's past LSU teams.

LSU probably spent $5 million on this season's basketball roster. I was highly critical of most of the signings, with the concern that this team would be horrible on defense and not athletic enough for the SEC grind.
However, as this season progressed, I bought into this team being different. They played very well at times in non-conference with a couple of solid wins and avoided the barely beating a 200+ NET team, as we've seen in the past. Then, even with Thomas out, they could have beaten A&M & UK.
There is just no way to look past losing to two of the worst teams in the SEC at home. That clearly makes LSU the worst team in the SEC. They now have only 2 QUAD 1 & 2 wins vs. 2 QUAD 3 loses, and NET crashed out to 60.
There is no way to spin things; it's McOver.

Last night his playcalling skills were seriously wanting. I couldn't believe the lack of ball movement, as well as defensive sets, in the first half of the game! And they call that BASKETBALL!

Not only her salary but how many assistants do you need.
