They need to buy Tigerland while they are at it and turn it into a parking lot.

I'd rather they spend that money bulldozing the ghettos around campus and building a nice modern campus for students and fans and building a wall around it like a fort from the BR riff raff.

I've never been in the PMAC and thought "OMG this sucks." It's fricking fine.

Just renovate the PMAC. Nothing wrong with it and the location could not be better

By "at this point" do you mean the last 40 years?

It would cost a 10th of what was proposed.

The "value" of the added expenses would be the gains by what we would then do with the land of the existing arena and how that adds value to campus.

We’ll see what happens but there’s nothing wrong with the PMAC, it just needs a once over and some upgrades

GaTech renovated McCamish (a very similar arena to the PMAC in age/design) 14 years ago at more than 10% of what the new arena cost is being proposed.

And the O'Connell Center at UF (even more similar to PMAC) was renovated 10 years ago for over $60 million.

You're looking at $100+ million in 2026 for a PMAC reno

Easily. There just isn’t the appetite from our donors to spend that right now given what they are spending on NIL and coaching staffs. That’s why we are trying to have a private developer build the arena instead.

Okay then, you can write the check and we can move forward with an overhaul of the PMAC.

LSU obviously researched the feasibility of renovating the PMAC and was going to cost well over 150 million. Ideally we should have built a new arena 15 years ago pre covid costs but that ship has sailed.

Right, look at what Bama is about to spend, look at the money Houston spent on their arena. Bama was going to build a $183million dollar arena but settled on upgrades for just under $60mil. Woody sold people on the idea that we need a $400million dollar+ arena when in reality you can do a complete makeover for the PMAC for $50-70mil easily.

I agree with renovating the PMAC mainly due to location. I still want them to buy up the ghetto and make entertainment districts
