I think kiffin will be at lsu for a longer time than many, and will revolutionize how offenses are played in college football. If he stays for as long as spurrier did at Florida he will likely win more national titles since the playoffs will give more room for error during the year and he won’t have to deal with a Bowden coached instate rival every year during the season, and even if he did the playoffs will give him more cushion for a loss there.

I think if there were playoffs in the 90s spurrier probably would’ve gotten another natty during his time so I’m thinking lane wins at least 2 if he stays a decade. Maybe more but Miami is building a monster that will likely win a few themselves so we’ll see how many will be won.

If Lane wins a couple or three national championships in the next 5 years the NFL will be a major threat.

I don't know if we'll win any titles but it will be an enjoyable era of LSU football

Already looking forward to the “Fire Kiffin” threads when he inevitably loses a game

If he wins 3 titles in 5 years he can go with my blessing. Because it will have been the greatest 5 years in LSU football history.

Let slow down a bit. You are already worried about the implications of Lane winning 3 NCs in th next 5 years?

Lets win 1 and go from there.

I think it’ll be over a 10-11 year span.

We will want 3 at least
Before going to the nfl

I'll take it. But the only issue with this theory is the NFL likes young head coaches and Lane will be 60ish by this time. We may be stuck with Lane for 20 years and 5 NCs.

I feel like if he wins 3 in 5 he might forgo the nfl to chase Saban’s record

The NFL is always a threat with successful coaches, but the difference between Lane and Saban is that Lane has already had a taste of that and Saban just needed to find out what he could do as an NFL HC.
No idea what Lane would do, but I think that works in our favor this time.

The Gator homers on Jacksonville radio were thinking he would be Spurrier 2.0 at Florida before Kiffin chose LSU.

He is the closet thing to Spurrier in terms of an offensive mind and his ability to troll or needle his opponents.

I’m not so sure about that. A big part of his success in college is recruiting. You can’t just go out and buy players in the NFL because there’s a salary cap. He’s limited to the exact same resources as every other franchise. He may not want to deal with that. Plus, college kids can be molded much more easily than adults. In the breakfast address earlier this week, he mentioned culture and players buying in. He talked about the atmosphere they create, which is a fun one. And it’s partly designed so that players prefer to be there rather than transfer out. That’s a lot harder to do in the nfl. Also, I’m sure he’s spoken to Saban about his own NFL experience.

There is zero chance Kiffin is at LSU for 10 years considering he has never been anywhere more than 6.

Dude is an opportunist. If he has success at LSU and an NFL job in a big market city comes calling, he will take it.

Kiffin knows 90% of winning is having the best players. That’s why he’s here.

I think it has all of the makings for a huge run, but I think most reasonable fans are skeptical of how long Lane actually stays at LSU.

It feels like there are mixed signals on whether or not he wants to be an NFL coach again. If Lane wants to stay in college then I don’t see him leaving and it being an insane 15 years fun, truly. Lane and LSU are a match made in heaven for brand and personality.
