It's really not that surprising. A lot of black males, especially younger, have been negatively impacted by illegal immigration.
They used to have good jobs in the trades, and that's gone down due to illegals. Blacks used to dominate trades like masonry, sheet rock, concrete, etc., and they don't anymore due to being undercut on labor. Some of the most anti-illegal things I've heard spoken was from blacks.

I suspect the Panthers’ initial inclination was to jump out on the side of the “protestors” solely because they saw the movement m as anti-white conservatives, then they realized even the majority of blacks (males in particular) either approve of the ICE actions, or are, at the minimum, highly apathetic about the topic. The church disruption crap probably isn’t helping the “protestors” cause with blacks, either (again, especially w/ males).

I would have actually predicted they wouldn't go along with the Dem narrative.
When the democrats are 100 percent focused on illegals and keeping that voting bloc, they are not focused on who they believe they already have wrapped up. And when you hand billions of TP dollars to illegals... guess where that money is not going.
They know they are being cast aside for the moment. They are sending up a warning flare.

This was discussed a long time ago, back during the Bush II and Obama admin timeframes, but the Dems and black community leaders refused to hear it. They called it "racist" then, but here we are now.
