We've been trying to get more control - access to Greenland since HST and WW2.
Other POTUS's tried but only PDJT going to get it done.

Trump capitulated and got a deal that’s functionally the same as we had before. We got what we wanted and Trump can still keep up the charade that he’s some master negotiator.

Hell we can’t even control who enters their water and airspace. If Russia or China tried to take Greenland, the US does not have the authority to defend it.
The US has tried to acquire Greenland several times under both party administrations since WW2 under the current treaty. Why is that?

I think Trump was sending a signal to China, Russia, Denmark and the EU, the US will be controlling and occupying certain areas of Greenland for US strategic defense purposes and other national interests.
