Anyone thinking about getting out there this weekend with the winter storm coming in? Will it be worth the sit?

I had a pretty good season already so I don't think I'm going to renew my license until October Sleeping in a tent sucks in this weather, too.

Our camp is several miles down a gravel highway. We had plans to go and bring the kids to try to kill something... but with the risk of roads getting icy, and being without power possibly in those temps, I don't think I'm making a trip this weekend.

Shitty weather, a nice cozy box stand a hot thermos would make for a world class nap.

Sunday should be a good day to be out there, but icy roads and the possibility of losing power has me undecided.

I was debating not going in case we lost power and the roads would be blocked, but my season has been awful. I need these last two weekends to hopefully get some more meat in the freezer.

I’m on call for work so it’s a great weekend to just post up at home.

I’ll be back for the finale though.

Any word if the season will close on Sunday, February 1st or they’re holding true to the Saturday (31st)?

As far as I know, it is still closing Saturday evening. I have not been alerted otherwise

Yeah, I'm going to give it a whirl. Beats sitting on my arse at home. They were still chasing last weekend in Meadville.

Yeah it’s looking like Sunday and Monday may still have icy roads. If yall plan on staying whole weekend I’d take off Monday from work, maybe even Tuesday.

Guy at work showed me pics this morning from Monday of a mature 6 and a nice 8 cruising daylight hours, solo. Good luck out there.

I need meat. Will be there tomorrow afternoon until at least Saturday night. Gonna watch the weather close and adjust accordingly. May hunt Sunday and might come home Saturday night

I’ll be up a tree Sunday after church. Working Saturday to make up for being off Monday. Have a feeling we will work next Saturday, so I’m not about to miss out on the probable last sit of the season.

I'm still very torn on going up or not. Couldn't get there until Friday evening so would be there Saturday and nervous about coming home Sunday. Seems like right on the edge of the freeze line in Claiborne county. However have about 4 miles of hilly roads to travel to get to a main 4 lane road.

I really need more meat but just not sure it's worth it. Will try and decide at some point today
