Kiffin has done more recruiting and on the job work than Brian Kelly in 4 years.

I mean BK was able to bring in #1 transfer classes just like Lane and sign Jayden Daniels. His recruiting wasn’t the issue at least at first, he could bring in lots of talent

The issue was he was a bad coach who had no concept of the cultural fit needed here and his effort declined significantly over the years

He did that in the first week. It’s amazing how little Kelly actually cared

People seem to forget that we were absolutely humming this time last year as well, but even as strong as that portal class was, it does not compare to what Lane is doing right now in my opinion. What makes this even more exciting on top of the wealth of talent is that we all feel extremely confident that these guys will be coached well and put in great positions to succeed.

Just look at the trips he made around the country and spoke at the breakfast yesterday. It's amazing to see a hungry driven coach that's as thirsty as LSU fans. He fits this university like a glove. Lane will absolutely win at least 1 here before he's done.

Speaking to a group in BR, immediately flying to Atlanta to focus on a recruit, returning and at the office at 10p. Brian Kelly would never.

Showing up to visit a recruit before another coach can is an Ed O trait that Kiffin must have picked up. Crazy to think that he's learned the game from Saban/Caroll and the recruiting from O. That's a pretty lethal combo

meh, it wasn't really Kelly. It was his staff and last year's portal class was thanks to most notably the coaches that he didn't retain when he took over and asked to return like Baker and Corey Raymond. Real evaluator of talent that Kelly is.

Brian Kelly is Matt McMahon and Lane is Wade.

That statement doesn't convey much. Two years ago, I mentioned to fans that BK was lacking motivation and didn't really want to be here. Many fans were quite critical of my statement at the time. Having worked as a recruiter for the Navy, I can recognize those who are genuinely dedicated and putting in the effort. In just two months, Lane has demonstrated that commitment. Lane and his staff deserve recognition for their hard work and dedication. I truly believe we can win it all in Year 1—yes, I said it.

BK did a good job stabilizing the ship. He just was not a very good Captain for the long run....

Fun times as an LSU fan. I’ve been more invested in these past 2 months than the last several years because Kiffin is invested and is great at representing the brand.

Kelly was unlikable and boring from day 1, so the regular live updates of what Kiffin is doing (from the man himself) since he got here is a breath of fresh air. Knowing he’s at least busting his arse and finding extra money under couch cushions just makes it feel different.

Shout out to all the big donors that made it possible. With Kelly’s buyout, Lane’s new deal, all of the other coaches new deals, and an outrageously expensive recruiting cycle, some of the big donors seem to have gone all in on starting the Lane era off right.

BK did good, it’s not him being bad.
But Lane is just killing it

Kelly was able to pull highly rated recruits, but it was more due to the position coaches than it was him, as he relied on them doing the heavy lifting and travelling... Kiffin does that himself, so yes, he definitely has done more than Kelly ever did

Totally agree. BK stabilized the program after the dumpster fire Ed O left the program in. He would have won the national title Daniel’s senior year with a half competent Defense and D coordinator.

And who was the one that was supposed to give him supervision and hold him accountable. That’s the worst part.
