I think this is totally inappropriate. He is one of 350 people that responded that day, and the county put him on trial because he was one of the first on site, and should have rushed into the school without knowing what was in progress.
Many children died, that's a fact. but to blame one of 350 is just wrong
Jury out currently.

Because he was one of the first on scene and did not act. There is blood on his hands for being an armed coward with a duty to act. Hundreds of children in danger and he stood around with a thumb up his arse while they were being slaughtered. An abomination.

Sorry. Dude is a POS for what he did not do nor attempt to do. Throw him under the jail.

One downvote for no link.
I'm tempted to create an alter ad DV you again for your terrible take and fundamental misunderstanding of the situation.

People rightfully hate cowards, we need to encourage the hatred of cowards even more

He’s a smug POS and hope he gets life for being a coward

What was his demeanor while he was hesitating to do anything? I know it’s his duty, but shite, that’s a tough situation.

His lawyers defense is tunnel vision and throwing everyone else under the bus.

What about the rest of them who stood around with their thumbs up their asses? They figure this one dude will suffice? Sounds awfully Scapegoaty.

I believe most of us think the whole department should be washed. You didnt post any information so I really don’t know much about this or guy specifically but judging from the comments he was the first one there and did nothing so he should absolutely be fried.

2 were charged
The incident commander in charge of the scene and an officer that had time, access, capability and necessary weapons/armor to act but failed to do so.

That’s part of the lawyers defense.
This guys problem is a teacher ran out of the building and told him where she saw the shooter and he did nothing. She tripped and fell while running.
The defense is trying to say the woman is traumatized and maybe has a foggy memory but in the post interview he says he saw a woman fall and went over to her and found out where the shooter was but couldn’t act before he started shooting.
He also taught a class on how to handle these situations. He may be screwed.
The teacher ran back inside while he stayed outside. And why he’s being charged with 29 counts of child endangerment.

It’s unconstitutional. Remember the Sheriff at the high school in Palm Beach County, Florida. The same thing was attempted with him and the Supreme Court case that said police do not have a duty to protect citizens with their lives.
Although the officers didn’t respond ethically, it wasn’t illegal. There is no obligation for law enforcement to sacrifice their life.

He should not have taken the job from someone who would have protected the kids. He knew he was a coward and a dead head.

I don't. It's criminal negligence.
He literally swore an oath to protect and serve. He was trained to do so, and paid to do so. That's what first responders do.
I'm trained with firearms and consider myself to be situationally-aware. I'm not even a LEO either, but I can 100% guarantee you that i would have used cover and my senses to assess the situation, move on the target and done everything in my power to summarily put him down. Kids were being slaughtered. There's no hesitation.
Maybe I'd have died. But I'd rather have died trying to save those kids than to do nothing while listening to their screams as they were mercilessly executed.

That's what gets me... a majority of adults would have done so. With or without training, with or without armor, with or without even traditional weapons.
This stooge had all three. Did the exact opposite of most human's most basic instincts.

I thought officers didn't have a legal obligation to actually help anyone? That's the loophole pretty much every blue city uses when they force cops to stand down and allow chaos and violence to happen.
Is it different in Texas?
Can cops , elsewhere, who stood down while people were attacked or killed be charged with something also?
Examples. The entire kenosha incident with rittenhouse and company could be blamed on that police department standing down.
Three people died in Seattle during the woke occupation of segments of that city, woke were only allowed to occupy that shite and force out police and other first responders because that police force stood down..
In Portland, a maga guy was straight up executed on the street because Portland pd stood down and created the environment for chaos.

...and I'm honestly not even a selfless person. Most instances, I'd rather just walk away and let crap sort itself out. I'm an antisocial nonconformist and habitual contrarian. I'm not a "people person" by any measure.
Perhaps it's because I already raised my kids and they're all young adults with their own lives now. My job as Dad isn't done, but I've become a spectator and only rarely do I feel compelled to inject myself into their affairs. And I certainly wouldn't want to leave Mrs. Axe behind to do it on her own... but we're talking about kids here. I wouldn't just throw myself in front of a hail of bullets and get clapped from stupidity, but I'm definitely going into hyper-slow-mo adrenaline mode and taking decisive action to end the threat.
There's just no way I could not take action.
