The Bills make us Saints fans appreciate our SB win even more.

For a team that went to four Super Bowls in a row in the 90s and lost all four, to the modern day Bills that for years now can’t even get back to the big game, I feel like we can all agree that the Saints winning the Super Bowl is even more meaningful.
Some teams just can’t get over the hump. Even teams that have been around forever (Vikings, Browns, Lions, Cardinals, etc.) have never won a Super Bowl. The Saints have only made it once, but they made the most of it and won. I just hope they can make it back in my lifetime.

Me too, man. I have a good feeling about the near future. Been too long since we have had meaningful late season football.

it pisses me off more about Tampa Bay though, too.
Get Brady who then pulls Gronk and Antonio Brown (and keep him sane) out of retirement to form a one year super team that we destroy two times in the regular season…yet they injure Michael Thomas and go on to win the Super Bowl with their one lightning in the bottle year

I never thought I’d see one in my lifetime.

I still blame Jared Cook for fumbling in that game. Saints were moving it at will until that gave TB a huge spark and never looked back.
I don't know if the Saints could beat the Packers in GB the next game, though.

only 4 teams have never made the SB. browns, lions, texans, jaguars.
now plenty have never won it. but those are the 4 who have never even played in one.

Yeah, there were even moments in 2009 when I wasn't enjoying the ride like I should have been. I kept waiting for that come back to Earth moment. When they lost three in a row to close out the regular season, I kept thinking the worst but then they just beat the shite out of Arizona.
But that Vikings game...... brah...... that was an all-timer as far as the wave of emotion.
You get caught up in the game-to-game chase but even in the great 2009 season, I remember feeling like I didn't want it to be over in the following weeks after the Super Bowl.
I caught myself rewatching games I had recorded before the fricking draft even happened that next spring

It’s inexcusable that the Saints never made it back to the Super Bowl during Drew Bree’s’ last 12 seasons of his career.
What a waste
What a waste

I saw a meme the other day about how they picked JJ McCarthy before Bo Nix was drafted, had Sam Darnold and decided to let him go, and there was another big swing and miss with a player or coach and it really makes you wonder how that GM still has a job.

Brett Favre did a Brett Favre and we all owe him a debt of gratitude for eternity.

The Buffalo Bills famously lost Super Bowl XXV on January 27, 1991, when kicker Scott Norwood missed a 47-yard field goal attempt, which was described as "wide right." This miss allowed the New York Giants to win the game 20-19, marking the beginning of the Bills' streak of four consecutive Super Bowl losses.

The Bears only have 1 SB win - 1985.
Thankful for Superbowl victory - XLIV
Shame w/ the Rams game and Vikings game

Man, when the Vikings were driving down the field for what seemed like a sure Ryan Longwell game winning FG, I was devastated. And then… Brett Favre did what only a true gunslinger like himself could do, gamble for a big play and totally reverse the Saints fortunes. What a humongous shift of emotion. That game was the true crucible the Saints had to go through on the way to the championship.

The Saints and Bills are mirrors - the difference is the Saints won the damn thing and grasped the thing in their one shining moment.
Back in 2009 part of me was just happy to be there (in the SB). Looking back, goddamn thank goodness we won it, especially with the foresight of future Rams/Vikings 2x/Niners playoff exit heartbreak,

Joke goes New Orleans sold its soul for the 12-men in the huddle penalty. Forced a longer 3rd down for MIN, followed by Favre INT.

But conversely, the Lions and Browns HAVE won NFL championships (each winning 4) back in the days before the Super Bowl.

Yeah, and Bills should still be playing if not for some questionable calls in Denver. And, that Saints should have been in second Super Bowl if not for blatant no call in conference championship against Rams with their west coast officiating crew.

Up 34-23 with 2 minutes and some change left on the clock. TB was out of timeouts, we were in the red zone. fricking rolls up on CGM's ankle.
Just the fact that we had a 2 posession game essentially won and it derailed the entire season.
