Denmark answered the call of its ally after 9/11 and deployed thousands of troops to Afghanistan (Iraq, too, for that matter).

Denmark lost more soldiers per capita in defense of America than any other NATO country (aside from the U.S.).

We are friends with Denmark, to the incalculable benefit of both. Threatening to invade your friends is not the American way. It is what Russia would do, frankly.

No one is invading Greenland….with the exceptions of Russia or China.

"Denmark has a TERRIBLE history with Greenland. There was FORCED sterilization until the 80s and 90s! All of a sudden, now that the US expressed an interest, there's this new interest from them?!"

Maybe we should ask the people of Greenland???

It seems like this is something that would be extremely calculable and I would guess the benefits of this relationship are heavily weighted in Denmarks direction

We’ve been subsidizing the defense of NATO and the EU for several decades. Time to pay tribute to the US. Ceding territory is the expense.

The entire Greenland issue is unnecessary and unfortunate. Denmark has always been a good ally,, and we’ve had full access to Greenland for national security purposes.

It really seems as if Trump and Miller just get off on flexing their muscles in public. Kind of pathetic…

When Trump says national security, he isn't just talking about the military. Greenland has rare earth materials that will allow us to be less reliant on China.

We are not 'friends' with any nation, and no nation is 'friends' with the United States. We have interests, as do other nations, and we align with other nations when it is in our interests to do so, and vice versa. Anyone who thinks we are 'friends' is naive.

Do you really think there's an incalculable benefit to having a relationship with Denmark?

Maybe this:

Denmark isn’t selling, their king and parliament have already made the official statement.

So they’ve called Trump’s bluff.

The problem with his negotiation strategy this time is he hasn’t given either side an off ramp. Trump has said either sell or we’ll take it. He didn’t really think this one through.

Meanwhile Iran, Russia, and China are sitting back laughing.

Oh well...that settles it. Trump might as well quit.

Just stop. You know as well as I do that we aren't taking anything from Denmark without paying them. They will continue to whine about being strongarmed to save face for being SELLOUTS. That's how this game works.
